todays update saw the bay painted. rather pleased with the outcome even with the conditions i was in. heres the pics...

decided to take it off axel stands which its been on for 6months, where has the time gone. i had forgotten how low the car sits, even with standard springs and shocks!!

had a tidy up then covered it up with a new tarpaulin i bought, the other side of it is blue which pretty much matched the colour of the primer. lol. i thought id leave the green side out though.

bought this off a member on here to replace the middle part of my slam panel i was missing.

i had made tabs on my old one to fit in place but looked untidy, decided to overlap this one as it looks neater. cut off the excess bits and fitted it down.

its been 19months since i took it off the road, 6months out at my friends farm. once its been painted ill bring it back to my garages where i live. cant get hold of my painter though, hes had a bereavment in his family so its understandable.

to me it feels like i havnt done much, but the amount of hours ive put into doing all the work on the shell is incredible. i cant see my self ever doing it to another nova again if i end up crashing this one.

but i gave the whole exterior a DA and rub down, still got a few bits to sort out before i want it painting. atleast this way ill have some more dough to buy parts once its been painted.

as much as id love to i think its best left to proffesionals. the engine bay and inside wont be seen as much as the exterior so was happy to do those.

Best to get the body done the first time mate. I'm glad I chose the pro route and not tried to do it myself at home.

The build may be dragging out but it'll be well worth it in the end so no need for the rush imo. I felt the same at one point but the bodywork is excellent now so It was well worth waiting a while for that to be sorted. So I don't mind waiting a few months to get other stuff in order before it's done ;)
