I think the issue I'm having is worsened by the sidemounts - they easily add an inch width per side. Think I'm going to ditch them and get some flat ones, which would give me this kind of width:

Good hacking action bud, I'd remove the complete 'brace' that goes across the floor tho, whilst you're at it, at least then you have a flat surface to work on, maybe?

Corbeau Forza, base mounted on proper tailored Nova subframes - ahhh the joys of something that bolts straight in with no fuss.

Yeah I might chop the brace out, annoyingly I've stitch welded the bugger in so won't be trying to drill out the spot welds :cry:

One thing tho, clean the metal when you weld it, much better welds then.

I use a grinder with wire wheel attachment before welding. The latest pics look like I haven't cleaned it up because I was using some 'weld through zinc primer' or something like that.

After this mornings disaster with the seats, I cracked on with other stuff. I accidentally made an alternator cutout so I guess I'll have to fit a 20XE, oh well.
