     oh well!!! lol at the junior hacksaw though must've taken a while:thumb:
Quick update:
Been doing all sorts, engine's coming out one night this week, I've de-greased as much of it as I can - instant improvement! The gearbox is back to alloy again!
Most of the redundant seat brackets and stuff are nearly gone now. I need to get this finished asap and then weld in the brackets for the bucket seats.
Sam's been sanding everything that needs sanding and it's starting to look much better even though theres primer everywhere!
Brackets removed:

There's SOOOOOO much to do to get it ready for PV aghhhhhhh!
Keep at it mate.
All ive got to do for PV is fit a towbar to my partners Vito, and fit 4 tyres to the trailer, and thats pushing it LOL
Plenty to do before pv then i see

Got the engine out tonight so I can now prep the engine bay ready for when I paint it.
I have all the paint in stock and received the Bailey header tank today.
Still waiting for the carbon fibre door and boot trims and not 100% decided on what to do with the doors yet (repair or not to repair - I have 2 mint doors but they're de-handled) :s
Looking sorry for itself:

Another before and after...
How the engine bay was after taking the engine out:

And after a LOT of arsing around with de-greaser, it needs more time spending on it before I can start prepping for paint but it's much better:

Getting there :)
de-greaser is so good lol
lol get stuck in there kev lad , this has to be at PV lol
It was still quite a bit of effort though and still more to do. It seems like some parts of the bay have previously been painted without being prepped properly and the de-greaser was actually taking the paint off! Should have that bit done tonight.Quote:

Small update. Had plans to get loads done today but we went out lastnight and I felt very rough this morning so there is no motivation whatsoever, I have hoovered loads of dust out of the shell though lol
The temporary spray booth is now up :)

Got the engine bay prepped and primed, big thanks to Nick (novaload_nick) for prepping the bay while I got on with other bits inside the car:

I haven't used the compressor and spray gun for something like 8 years and it all worked as good as I left it!
Theres a few more jobs to do inside then it can be primed inside, I'll sort out the few rust spots on the arches at the same time.
I'm dreading painting inside, it's gonna be very difficult with the cage in there!
Cool.
Where did you get your "spray booth" from?
We've had it for years and put it up for parties etc.
Argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...t%3EGAZEBO.htm
Very handy for this as it just about fits onto the concrete bit in front of the shed and allowed us to work on the car while it was raining yesterday. It has plastic base plates on the end of each of the legs with holes in so you can peg it down. I've screwed it to the concrete :)
Cool, i need something like that.
Only problem is it flaps about in the wind, can hear it now - very annoying!
lol
get abit of leakage when it rains too lol
Gaffer tapped the vents shut now lolQuote:

I did think about that but:Quote:

positive thinkinglol
Been cracking on with the seat brackets (how long has it taken me to get my head round it!!!) and will have that finished tonight hopefully.
Manged to get next Friday and Tuesday off work so thats 5 days that can be spent on the car, should see some good progress then. Hope the weathers good so I can get some painting done.
Latest pic shows the inner wings all hammerited up :) - thanks Sam :)

hammer timee!! lol
Bay is looking good now, amazing what a bit of paint can do :)
very nice, will be a beaut when its finished
thats how you dance kev. cant wait till we convoy down to PV!
I wish I could dance like that!
You dance like a 1 legged swan lol
I'm getting somewhere now! Prepping has taken agggeeees, we kept finding suprises that weren't expected or allowed for, it's not going to be perfect but at the end of the day it is a track car.
The gazebo is taking a hammering in the windy weather we've been having and has had to have ad-hoc repairs as we've been going along, it now has rope all over the place and extra framing made from wood lol
I masked the car up today so I can paint the inside, went over to my paint mixing area and got some anthracite mixed, poured it into my new gravity fed gun that I've never used (and was sooo looking forward to using!) went to plug it into the air line and it was a different connector doh!
OK I should have checked this first but I've had this new gun for about 4 years and it slipped my mind. I had to pour the paint into my old gun which was recently named (and demoted to) "the primer gun" lol and use that instead.
I've got loads of pics but can't get them off my phone very easily so I've got 2 from today:
The car all masked up and waiting for paint inside:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...xW4YBnbDd-.jpg
The inside after painting the anthracite on:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...hRWaQQWLIF.jpg
It still needs lacquer but looks soooooo much better. I will hopefully be able to lacquer tomorrow and can then reverse the masking (so the holes are masked up instead of open) and paint the outside!
Then start putting it all back together!
2 weeks to go!
Good work mate - keep it up!
Where do you get your masking paper and tape from?
I end up trying to use newspaper and it always works out more hard work!
Looking great progress :thumb:
Nice job there
