that is the easy way as the engine wont fit in from the top unless you remove the slam panel, the bits which can be seen will be resprayed again if scratched it was too make sure the whole bay got sprayed
iv tried and gave up,
i think you need to build the engine in the bay lol
Not if its cable tied in place.......lol lolQuote:

forgot to say when the engine was out the flywheel and box where replaced with an xe flywheel and an F20 box
Jesus christ those V6's are huge....
Ive always fancied a v6, but not in a nova.
Live a little lol they are rather large!
Wheels look awesome. How much were they to re-furb?
A little costly! lol cost me ?140 all in all which wasnt too bad considering the state of them
Did they build up the areas that were damaged?
Yeah they have built the damaged ares up so only a few small indents in the ally
Then that's a great price considering the work that would have went in. And such a quick turnaround aswell. Well done.
ill be interested to see this done as iv considered it a few times !
I will be at PV with it so you can see it in the flesh for yourself then
that is looking very good mate keep it up are u leaving the engine standad or u doing any thing to it
Have changed the flywheel to be lighter, thats it for the time being until i get the turbo for her lol
awsome project mate
These seats are pants in a crash or just when you break hard and passenger hits them (snap)as my friend Sam found to her peral!Quote:

Have got rid of them mate have written that further down the theread lol no 1 is going to be in the back as gonna have a cage where the back seats used to be lol
how did u get on today then mate did u manage to get all the mounts and that done them how long u think till its up and running
Got the the mounts made up so the v6 is sitting in the bay properly now! need to find a cav inlet for it and making the manifolds up for it within the next couple of days, hoping to have it running by saturday depending on if i can find a loom for it!
photos lol
have u got any pics of the mount that u made up what part of the loom are u wanting the bit on the engine or the main bit that goes to the ecu
Quite a mad idea this, but in a good way!
Look forward to seeing finished at PV. :thumb:
Not really that mad! lol quite a few have already been done already or so i have been told
photos lol
Oh yeah I know its been done but its just the idea of a huge engine in a tiny bay.
After quite a lot of fiddiling, we have managed to fit a saab inlet instead of the usual cav v6 inlet that is used due to space, it has required the cutting of some of the bonnet metal work tho lol this is also known as the omega inletso it can be done!
you got any more pics yet mate well done for getting that inlet under the bonnet
The saab inlet sounds interesting, you got any pics?
Just got a pic of it here, hope you can see this
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c.../saabinlet.jpg
had to skim some of the top of the inlet to get it to fit under but unsure as too wether i will use this yet
So howcome you chose the saab inlet anyway? Ive never looked into v6 novas although ive always liked the idea, cant you use a 2.5 inlet?
Yeah i could but wanted something a bit different the only inlet that fits is a 2.5 v6 cav one so wanted something a little different
Quick update, have put a new slam panel on
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...Image001-3.jpg
Got a set of ccarpets and a GSI dash which i gave a dam good clean!
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...4/Image007.jpg
still awaiting parts should be running tomorrow depending on if i get my loom!
engine mount photo lol
Got some more done on it all the shafts are in, well welded shafts for the time being so i could put the car back on the floor with all the suspension and brakes mounted up,
What colour do you guys think? keep it matt black?
