As for retaliation fair play. Tbh we are all the same there. if someone hit me infront of people for no apparant reason then id feel the need to defend myself or have it out on a even footing (ie when im stood up and able to defend meself)

Thanks to Bottlethroddys for being more than reasonable about this, I did see the video and tbh without being there it's near on impossible to see whats going on!
There's always two sides to every story, and unless you were Mark or Stuart it's not 100% what happened.
I have two videos from Mark from his car, the first is the escort ignoring the no overtaking rule (about 3-4 seconds from Mark going through) and the second of the incident (well audio of Mark ranting at Stuart then Stuart coming back punching and headbutting - obviously this video doesn't capture the first bit so it does seem one sided - but we still know something happened before) then it shows Mark 'flooring it' in the paddock, I'm pretty sure you can tell there's no speed involved there, then Stuart coming back to hit him some more.
Mark is annoyed at himself that he went and shoved him, but hindsight is a wonderful thing!

As it was, Mark picked on someone without knowing who it was, it turned out to be someone you really dont want to pee off. Mark obviously acted in a rage without thinking, as you say, its not like him, and thats exactly what happened with Stuart.
Obviously, violence of any sort shouldnt be tolerated, and Im sure Stu wouldnt have got so angry if Mark waited for him to get out of the car, I think it was that fact alone that made him so angry. Hes not the type to let fists fly unless heavily provoked. Mark's a big lad, and if it were some poor weedy bloke like me in the car, the situation would have been very different I imagine lol
I think its best to draw a line under this whole thing and hope that it doesnt happen again, from anyone at any event.
