thanks for all the comments everyone :)
about time you got this up bud, once mine is on the road ill have to nip up and take a closer look
good write up and nice lil sleeper you got there:thumb:
sorted my ECU light out by making the backing plate for the bulb to shine through, think i remove the tow-bar symbol, as i wont be needing that lol

finally got some 15" cesaro wheels - big thanks to Ste L for the heads up on the for sale thread, got 5, as a bonus too
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0289.jpg
Got a alloy sparco upper strut brace, which fitted on my last nova xe (with sfi box) but just seems to crush my ecotec powercap hose - so will probably have to get another brace, got the autosol out and gave it a clean up anyway

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0292.jpg
no problem with for the wheels...
not possible to fit the strut brace the other way?
good call - just strange how it fouls I reckon, as I thought it sat the same height as the SFi box... obviously not!
not tried it with my metal powercap tho...
if it hits the eco pipe, then got no change with the powercap as it's bigger
one step closer to being ready for the track...

its getting there now...
what's left to do?
or should i say, whats left that you want to do?
nothing! :)
those bits didn't really need doing, just a case of getting an "open pit" trackday booked, don't want to go on a sessioned day for its first outting, as I will be setting it up through-out the day, so will be in and out the bits altering the height/ stiffness of the suspension etc
Make sure you get a vid of its first outing :)
certainly will - have a in car camcorder, and a wireless bullet camera (with built in hdd) for outside the car, down by drivers wheel :)
Cool, be good to see an outside view
Wish i started with such a mint shell ! Nice work mate. Quality thread
for some reason - just received a notification email saying you've just replied?! lol
seems like my email is lagging, somewhat!
cheers anyway :)
great thread, great car :thumb:
Nice build mate and quality work, also the shell is enviously clean. I really like the sleeper look of this car, and the cheeky shot of NOS too!
which set-up have you got ??? ive been looking at bullet cams and maybe a multiple camera set-up to capture the faces of people of you pass (to much time on my hands i think)Quote:

Ahhhh...i was wondering who this Trackdaynova was..then the sticker said Hewitt ;)
so what brought you back Oli?
Looks like a Top wee nova build that seams to have been done quick and well.
Scott
Top pics there, Lol @ the boot sticker.
is the black panel getting sprayed up gold?
looks mint mate love the pics
Like how you have kept the 1.2 badges on this 1 lol.
Brill build.
Pictures looks very cool, nice effect. Is the bonnet a GRP one as it looks a tidy fit! I want one of those steering wheels but I can only ever find the two spoke version...
quality build mate..dont know how i missed it
cheers everyone - yeah, the lower valance is the same anthracite colour as the engine bay (got a bit carried away with the spray gun)
it'll be going champaygne when i can be bothered, but as a tracktoy - it'll get chipped etc anyway.
ste - only done 1 of the cesaro's lol :p
scott - its been done over a while, just bits and bobs - i posted this build all at once tho, bought the car in february - took it for its mot in august, so a good 6 months or so.
brought me back? never been on novaload/png before?
tom - yeah all the panels are original, suprised how it fits considering how many times its been off and on lol
cheers for comments
I think he means to Novas themselves :thumb:Quote:

and i know them, a safe bet for a bit of good quick trackday fun, very cheap to repair :)
in preperation for the trackday week tomorrow... sorted gearlinkage so all 6 gears are easily accessible now, sorted the shorting out behind the clocks which kept the engine running after i'd turned off with the key
need a 12v strip of LEDs to attach to my rollcage now, as my interior light is blocked due to windscreen bar on cage
finally (much to ste's delight) rubbed down, prepped and painted my cesaro wheels ready for tyres tomorrow
also - finally a complete engine shot now its' finished (previous engine shot had no water hoses etc), removed cambelt covers and rocker to spray them up again - come up nice, and added a heatshield also in satin black
