I just got a set of black daimond preditor pads to go with the omp disc's . There recommended by max power so they must be good !!!
Got the loom as striped out and the cage is properly mounted now. Its all ready for stich welding inside now. Should not take long to sort out the inside than we can get a bit of paint action.
i had some pics to put up but they got deleted so i need to do them again.
Here is a couple of pics of my front calipers and discs. The pads im using are black daimond preditor pads. the calipers were completely striped back and cleaned up to bear metal. Thought red would be a nice colour to go for, even tho the cav rims are not really going to let you see much of them !

Got a few more updates todo but no time at the mo.
looking good mate, nice wip
Scene as I want the car to be as light as possible I spent most of Saturday removing unwanted items from the nova. I started with sound deadening and got a little more involved after a while.
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/2/4107264217.jpg
The original idea was to make a flat surface to mount the internal fuel tank. I was going to use some steel but decided to use something a little lighter.
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/2/4107264348.jpg
Yes, its part of a land rover alloy roof. The roof has got some strengthening braces though it so it’s light and strong enough to support the 5-gallon tank.
I also decided to remove all the brackets I didn’t need. Which includes: all rear seat mounts (two backrest, two backrest pivot points and 3 bench hinging points, every little counts! Plus I also removed and the old fuel tank brackets.

Looks odd at the mo but you get the idea.

rah! top thread, just found this, read it from beginning, look a rather cool build mate!
Mike
On Saturday I also got chance to have a better look at the cage mounting points. I found out the cage didn’t fit cause the door bar bracket on one side was an inch to high! How it ever fitted in any nova I don’t know.
Anyway, this is a 3mm plate I made up to support the middle section of the 6-point cage.
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/2/4107264127.jpg
Notice that only tacking has been done! When fully welded the original floor will be removed (to allow the nuts to be put on) from under the car and it will be drilled and plug welded to the inner sill for more strength.
At the front and rear mount I will be making a 10cm by 14cm spreader plate, which will be, seam welded to the body. I will also fix a captive nut to the front plate, as the nut would have to be going through a box section of the body.
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/2/4107264172.jpg
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/2/4107264233.jpg
The plates are yet to be cut as it takes so long to cut 3mm steel!
Thought I would get a few pics with the cage in situ.

Does anyone know where i can get some braided internal brake lines ? Also, what fixings will i need ?
brake lines and brake line olive's are readily available from demon tweeks
and if you know how to make up your own brake lines, then you even more sorted :D ;)
How would you use an olive on a braided brake line !?!
When you make your own lines up!!! As oppose to buying pre-made kitsQuote:

looking good mate, the manifold isnt the same as my standard manifold(2.0 calibra) if that helps.
Got some more bits done to the inside of the motor. Thinks were made a little more tricky as i seam welded the part i needed to remove ! Im going to be fitting a cav gear stick so every thing will be internal leaving the tunnel free for a strait exhaust.
These bits needs to go !

Top work on the stitch welding, my engine bay was seam welded on mine and it was stih welded along the centre tunnel. It was rigid as fook and popped rear wheels up all of the time.. Mr.Foy can certify this :D
not 100% sure but i think you can get them spring bushes in poly as i was looking at a full bush kit for my sr and im sure they were included, great work by the way looks like and ace project and some good workmanship :D
Any ideas where i can buy some !?!

The idea is a strait through exhaust with just this at the back. Might need to a a box in the middle but we will see. Oh, and this will be a centre exit.
where did you get all those parts from for 130 quid?! bargin.
I got all the parts from rallydesign.co.uk . Think i should have got every thing i needed as there is a standard ?8.50 postage charge.
Right, when the nova is done i expect low 14's, maybe even a high 13 down the pod ! My mate thinks this is a dream and will stuggle for high 14's. What do you think ?
Spec will be:
c20xe, courtenay cams, piper filter, fse valve, free flow (very free flow) exhaust, some kind of chip also.
Think its either a f13 of f16 cr box with a quick shift and equal lenght shafts and running on cavs slabs with kumho 45 pro tyres.
The car should also be very light, well compaired to a fully trimed nova.
????????????
Bloody hell i finally read all that lol ... good look with the car its gunna look top notch!!!http://www.novaload.net/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif
Everyone knows how hard it is to get a good clean drivers door. I found a good clean door for ?30, which was a bargain ! But thought i would take a sander to the lower edge of the door to make sure there was no rust. I found filler and some small rot holes.
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911183590.jpg
Scene as the door look like it was used for paintball practice i thought i would put a new skin on it. Cost ?40 for the skin and it was the last one in the country (so i was told).
This is what i found when i took the skin off:
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172321.jpg
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172223.jpg
Yep, rotton as f**k. Frame was rusty to but it all grinded up alright. Quick bit of etch and its ready for a skin.
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172352.jpg
Bish bosh bash
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172111.jpg
Made sure i got loads of sealer so it will never rust again !
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172266.jpg
These pics are from the top of the door looking down towards the bottom (inside).
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172237.jpg
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172130.jpg
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/3/6911172265.jpg
The door still need finishing off with some filler but no worries about the dreaded rust now ;)
Got me new wings today :) Only set me back ?60 for the pair brand new ! Got to cut the repeater hole in tho. I was really surprised of the quality of the wing, scene as there pattern parts. Really crisp edges and swage lines. Im well impressed :)
