Nice work, the paint looks a spot on result for the std gm finish colour.
started my back bumper today,
bought some high build primer
went over the whole thing with panel wipe then flatted it with 800's to key the surface
then applied plastic primer

note novelty bin and sheet standlol
let that dry and started to apply high build primer, ive used a full 500ml tin, given it about 5-6 coats. think its got the texture gone now:thumb:

Give it a week to dry properly and most of it'll come back once the thinners have evaporated.
does it have thinners in it already? straight out of the tin? as i spoke to me cousin who is a painter by trade said that you dont mix it up, use it straight out of the tin? so i did, so i havent put extra thinners in
yep, spray cans have the thinners mixed in inside, thats why you need to shake them up to get an even coverage.
i didnt use spray cans, bought a tin of it and used my gun/compressor:thumb:
Nice paint stand,Lol.
Ye, high build does take a fair while dry.
Out a gun fills the texture fine, so i've been told.
How much was the primer?
Ahh, I thought you had. It will have gone on nice and thick then, give it a few days to dry off and go at it with the 800 again before putting color on;)Quote:

aswell as some gsi rear window surrounds
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45...7/Image030.jpg
nothing was damaged or bent, shocks were a little rusty but straight none the less:thumbs: so these will do until i can afford some coilovers.
after having a chat about the crash etc i came back and set about putting them on was 8 o'clock when i got back and ws going to leave it but i didnt i went for it:thumbs:

dont know what sort of times everyone else does this in but took me 45 minutes, amazing how much organised tools and a clean workplace helps:thumbs:

all in all a good 45 minutes for the old gal:thumbs:
front and rear gsi bumpers are on the way aswell as caps for the wheels and a gm central locking and electric window kit:D:thumbs:
Nice work, looks much better :)
Fitted one of my side skirts tonite, after a few hours scratching my head, i got the tape measure, ruler and spirit level out oh and a pencil and a drill:lol::thumbs:
measured where all the clips should go, drew it out on the sill and drilled the holes:o have protected all the bare metal so hopefully be ok:look:
wacked the side skirts on and they look a treat,
going to do other one tomorow and get some better pics of it out of the garage:thumbs:

Very nice, they look to have fitted well.
Hopefully the holes wont rust.
Whoa this sucker has taken on a whole new look with just those few bits on.
Me like! Surprised you didnt powder coat the springs considering the mintyness of the rest of the car... Saw about coilovers though.
So nice & clean!
raised the back up a little today as it was scrubbing the tyre sidewall:mad:
i planned to use a set of fk rear adjusters i had lying around but found the spring would not fit over these so i just used the locking ring off them and its raised it about 5mm, not much but hopefully enough to stop it scrubbing:)

The gsi bumpers will look sweet :thumb:
looking really mint mate,well done.
wish i would have taken this easy route of just doing some subtle mods.instead of fully stripping and rebuilding it.
looks spot on mate, the skirts and the wheels make all the difference.
