PMSL, still living up to the project name! Glad to see that! Here we have a car with no innards and your mincing around with the wheel caps!! lol lol
They do look good though, nice work!
lol love the wheels, better than the steelies
least now i can buy the steelies off him lol
Nice choice of wheels :)
Get some low profile tyres on tho ;)
Love the drivers door window seal in the top pic..... Have you got a replacement?
Not if they fit my car you ain't ;)Quote:

Anywoo, heater is in, dash is in with the ducting and glovebox, although I'll probably take it all out again at some point to sort out the wiring, heater controls and dials. At least its out the way and not shoved in the back looking untidy!
Incidentally, I also fitted the Euro offside rear light cluster. Alex took a pic of it, but photographed the wrong one. So I have a pic of the standard UK nearside rear light cluster if thats of any interest to anyone? lol
Put another couple of layers of paint on the door cappings and armrests, still not happy with the finish from the crappy halfrauds black=grey paint, so will probably end up painting them with proper car paint.
Also removed the passenger side grab handle. After much swearing and bending of screwdrivers, this is the remains:

fair enough RJ, iirc ive got a fuel tank knocking around in my silver shell which im getting rid of, its yours for ?15 if you want it ?? funk knows what postage would be tho ???
Is it an MPi tank? If you could look into postage that'd be handy :thumb:
bit skint at the mo tho, MOT & insurance due on the Celica this month :(
I'm loving the front suspension... its surprising how much that'll drop even with a small engine in there.
im not entirley sure pal, im going down to mates later to take some pics of the shell so ill check. if it suits your needs i dont mind saving it untill the next cheltnaham meet or whatever
Nice one Draper, that'd be ideal :thumb:
Matt, its quite funny having the front way up in the air and the back sat right down on the floor lol... BT gave me some std springs to chuck in the back so its sitting a bit better, but me being Mr Mince I haven't fitted them yet. Once an XE finds its way in there, it'll probably be the front sat on the floor and the back in the air then LOL
Mincey mincey mince

Dave spotted this grille on fleabay, so thought I'd purchase it until I get my backside in gear and Mk2 the front end
Been mostly trying to fix up some of the rust spots this weekend... looks like underneath the back end will have to be chopped out and fresh metal welded in. Woo :tard:
Also almost finished painting up some of the interior panels. Still not sure what to do with the roof lining, tempted to strip everything out of it and get it painted back to red :D
oh god he's started converting it back to red!Quote:

Undecided yet... Thinking an SR one wouldn't look right with the spindly rear bumper. If I can find a Mk2 saloon rear bumper I'd get the SR front.
Wow, is that a MK1 dash splitter conversion?
Top mincing by the way!
Next week: Mk1 SPOILER CONVERSION
jackk should of sed you was looking for a cheap engine/box/loom/tank i'l just sold a 1.6 8v to kinky nova for ?150 lol
think he wants an XE tho
and how does fitting a mk1 grill (thats coming off) make your progress jump from 19% upto 22% lol
tsk, read the post lol - did a bit of rust proofing and painted up most of the interior bits :)
I've got my eye on an XE at the moment actually, but I've got insurance and MOT coming up on the Celica. Rear brakes are a bit worn so they'll probably need replacing; ??? :(
Will keep my eyes open for any cheap xes comin up for sale..mean while speak to chris.. he may have a spare one.. if not tell him to take the one out of riggys nova thats there(ithink)Quote:

Hmmm, wonder if its still available...
I was looking at one in Cornwall - at a rather good price. Included all the loom, gearbox, ancilliaries etc. All it needed was an ECU.
You could guarantee though I'd spend a couple hundred on an engine, and then my celica would fail its MOT and need money... sods law!
Might be best to wait for a while... they'll be other xe's
I You Get Stuck for a AFM or Ecu or even a exhaust manifold giz a shout i have a spare of each
