Mesh isnt so bad when painted matt black or similar. Garish Silver just looks totally naff though.

Unless you need the cutout for a IC, then it looks cool!
Also, it looks cool with a bigmouth and zafira type slats to match the grill.

theres myne as has been said to much mesh makes your car look like a rabbit hutch imolol and cannot see the point in doing a big mouth unless you need one for cooling say a fmic or oil cooler etc!
You win Dan :D perfect big mouth mate!
No need to hook a water bottle on the front of your car lol
nice....always loved that car!
i like how every thin fits ok on dan16v's white nova even wiv big FMIC,very nice gaps.nice 1!
i love that chirs!! love the way the intercooler is!! looks as if is just trying to peep out lol!! number plate idea is well thought of too!
seen that at mfn once chris, looks tough as nails !!
think i only went down mfn in it once, u go down often? only went down once this year in mates corsa turbo
well this what mine looks like its a must if you want that nice cold air hitting the intercooler

Love the standard look. Don't like cutouts-looks jap-crap.
Should be looking toward euro-vw themes. They hide huge coolers on BAM 1.8 T's without cutouts.
maybe because an audi A3/mk4 golf front bumper is bigger then a nova one...
and they have intercoolers as standard...
but Rick that is basicaly defeating the whole point of having a large intercooler! by hiding it behind a bumper you are just covering more % of the core, making it less efficient!, i had an i/c made when i first started doing my car which went behind the std gsi bumper with no cutting needed, it all comes down to wanting it to "look good" or do the job it is intended for, keeping the inlet charge temp as low as possible, by taking maximun advantage of the volume/ surface area of your i/c and letting it see as much air as possible! which is the route i went downlolQuote:

The pic of mine on page 2 is alloy stretch mesh sprayed Rover hurricane Grey. When i first did the grille I put it in bare Silver. It was back out, blasted & sprayed the next day. It just screams attention when left bright. Dull it down by painting it black & make sure that whatever is behind it (usually not a lot) is dark. As has been said already. My lower fr panel was covered in Black insulting tape to hide the flame Red which wouldve looked cack & empty otherwise.
No offence to Matt172 or Fearless/brett W but I think the fr end of that car looks terrible. The bumper looks weak (not helped by it sagging & showing the grille pins), the mesh is too open & the colour of the car doesnt suit mesh IMO. The space behind the mesh isnt utilised I think is what I'm saying.
If it was a Black or dark Blue car for example, I reckon it might work though.
Subtle is the key.
havent been once this year due to no car, turned into a chav/gangsta wannabe night nowQuote:

- why did you use tape when spaying it matt black or even bodyguard would have been easier?:confused:Quote:

looks cool!! nice idea that!
would like the hole to be as big as jamiegsi, dan16v and matts
people think thats abit big saying its only there to look nice....
fair comment, i just think it looks gash. As you said, it's functional and I'm considering the aesthetics.Quote:
