My turbo nova project!

had another play on my own today! got the timing bang on after the timing gun was matched to the ign mean value on the lap top!, imo it is idling as good as it did on motronic!http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif on the down side my stat housing is leaking like a mofo!! at first when i looked underneith the car i thought it was the water pumphttp://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif all in all pritty good, abit smokey but it smells of fuel so i guess its because its on the rough map? and it doesnt like to rev much, starts poping and banging!

Fair play mate,ive been on nl for 3yrs and dont think i have seen that car move(apart from being pushed in and out the garrage) lol

Dose look like it's getting there now though mate,so keep going.

My mate mike his 1600 8vT pops and bangs on his DTA when you take it over 4krpm due to it not getting set up properly,as for mine...ha ha,well thats sat on the drive from when the AA towed me home in may...lol

should have some more updates and pictures soon! been mounting my spa gauge sensors! also need the threaded metal part that joins the 2 hand brake cables together by the rear beam [compensating yoke?] any one got one?:)

finaly got power back in the garage tonight!http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif also got bored and ordered the parts to mate my turbo to the air filter, used air duct hose and 2 silicone hoses! using the std hose was doing my head in as it was just a realy bad fit!, also ordered some black manifold heat wrap and ties! and went and bought all new ball joints the other dayhttp://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif spa's are all tap'ed in place just got 3 ball joints to go, 2 allen bolts in the rear beam, make handbrake cable up, got all the cables now, then do a final bolt checkhttp://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/lmao.gif

LMAO final bolt check will result in another rebuild.

if i put any bolts in that is Benlol

small update, decided i did not like my cam and belt cover any more! so i have just done the belt cover in that vht wrinkle paint! its in the oven at the moment! looks awsome! bird is going to go mad though as the oven stinks! lucky im on nights tonight so wont see her!lmao
if it all goes well ill do the cam cover and top hat, then do the header matt black aswell as the boost pipe! going for the industrial look!
still waiting for 2 bronze bushes to be made for my linkage, once that is done the car can come off the jack and i can do the hand brake cable! then its off to Mark for some map tweeking:)

i fancy that VHT paint on mine,,,,,,

vht paint looks awasome mate! ive now done the cam cover/ belt cover/ dizzy housing and top hat, the boost pipe and header tank have gone matt black!:thumb:

That finish looks like that kinda rough anodised finish you see on MTB bar ends & stuff like that.

That looks a good finish. Did you have to use any primer or straight on???

Rick i keyed the cam and belt cover, and then sprayed straight on top! the other bare ally stuff i zinc primered first

lol! turn up for the books today!
went home to collect some stuff out the garage and thought id have a good look for my digi dash transducer! after about 30 fooking seconds i found it! then even worse 1 min later i found the dam handbrake connector part i needed for ages then went to vaux and bought one! DOH!

All that time you saved looking you can use fitting then, so get on with it.

maybe 2moro! no point messing with hand brake till the new shoes come in! may fit the trnasducer and horn 2moro!

small update, done all the handbrake cables and re newed the hand brake pads and springs etc works a treat!, also ordered a new slam panel so that is coming in tommorow!, half my bronze linkage bush is done:doh: realy holding me up as he also has my rear g/box mount so the car is on axle stands at the moment!:rolleyes: changed the clutch cable to for a proper gen one:)
one thing which is realy starting to annoy me!! wires! to many of them, looks a mess in the kick well, not sure if im going to take the dash out yet and re route them!
oh and horn is now fitted, less the wires! and fitted the dash transducer to the box!
just 2 bolts to sort and a hand full of wires:eek:

small update got the slam panel today! almost felt 'wrong' to chop it into peices :lol:
have got some nice alloy button headed bolts to mount it with!, i did not mount it as my engine is sat to far forward, as it has no rear mount!

its getting there mate!, bit of a set back today as ive lost my rear gear box mount spacer DOH! ordered a new one now! not sure how long it will take to arrive! shame as i wanted it pritty much finished by thursday!, so now its still up in the air on stilts untill i can get the box mounted back up!
