Didn't want to go sound-system mental with the Mk2 lol
No but a bit of quality is needed.
Doesn't really bother me too much to be fair
Aslong as the motor runs spot on I'm happy
lol I meant on the T40 project? Reason is, I'd rather spend the money on the rack rather than the mounts if you can't get both at the same time, just bodge some tigerseal into oe mounts at the moment and get the solid ones later.Quote:

I can see the benefit on track cars, but I can't see why anyone would subject themselves to them on a road car. (and I know Vaughn's will be track biased)
sell me your solid mounts lol
I'd like a track/solid feel for the road to make it feel more chuckable and driveable and it might one day end up going round Knockhill or whatever if we could sort out a PNG Scotland Trackday as it's going to be quite a decent spec engine I'd be as well getting the full use out the car :)
Wouldnt have a solid rear and sikaflex'd front mounts give you the best of both worlds?
Also,if I bought a complete solid mount kit then id be lumbered with a unuseable n/s mount as mines going to have an f28.
i have a set of proper solid one to go on my XE but there such of a **** to fit that the last time i tried i got so pissed off and just filled my std one with some **** sealer , need to get some new mounts and fill with good tiger seal etc then sell my tas one i think haha
Filling the std mounts with sikaflex is a good half way measure for stiffening the engine up in the bay & halping the gearchange due to less engine shunt, however I have some TAS uprated mounts that shake the car (& sunroof) to bits. Thats not even the solid mounts!
So for a road car, fill them, with sealer, for a track car, take your choice IMO.
See, mine dont really rattle that much, and mine are proper solid mounts...
I've used both tas mounts and standard mounts filled with 2k windscreen adhesive. The tas mounts are harsh tbf, but are good for their purpose, but the filled mounts made my 1.2 noisy and rattly also. If you're gonna do any sort of mounts, be prepared to live with vibrations in the cabin.
Lol you don't have that much to rattle tbf ad! lolQuote:

I found when you first start it/drive it with glued mount the vibration and feel from the road was unreal. But bar the time i was at the end of the road i didn't even notice it feel it was there.
I first did mine to stop engine movement as my alt would rub. Not i get no move ment at all, inc on the rollers. Still have none with my Let fitted.
I don't like that alot of people have to slot the rear mount when using solids...
