plenty of work to do mate:thumb:
will be good once it's done:)
cheers lads, it really needs help lol
Gonna be rotten behind those skirts! before you buy any bits for it get it completely stripped (Including ALL the underseal), otherwise your fix bits of rust to find more just behind the patch you just did!
bare shell and sandblaster FTW lol
well i went up to have a look at my wee motor this morning after my nightshift and managed to dig it out and get another couple of pictures, the first pic is for Joe richardson, he asked me ages ago for a picture of my s3 and gsi together so here you go mate:thumb: ( part 2 follows in 5 mins :p )

tis the attitude it needs:thumb: im ordering a new rear panel this week, i have a full new gm boot floor, but i think ill start by pulling of the quarters and fixing behind them, i dont want to remove to much in the one go and leave the shell weak. and the same as you mate, coilovers in turrets.Quote:

at the moment im trying to make space for it to sit next to my other shell, as im using the other shell as a donor, and the GSI will have the engine and box removed and put on a spit, hopefully this will be done over the next couple of weekends.
if you need a hand let me know.
cool, might just need a hand bringing my GTE down to the garage at my house to give me more space as the vectra GSI is still there too:thumb:
cool, we will need to unload the corsa first then move your gte.
update needed :)
not done much tbh mate, em got the wings/bonnet/tailgate off stripped out the doors ready for removal and had to tidy up the shed and dig out my GTE as im bringing it down to the house for a bit to give me a little extra space. hopefull this weekend i'll get a door pin removing tool and get the doors off and windows out and make a start on pulling the engine and box out aswell, i'll get a few pics aswell:thumb:Quote:

na its a keeper mate, i could reshell but its got sentimental value for me and im a fooking great clepto aswell lol, ive still got my nova GTE that i bought when i was 18!!
just seen the pics
jesus thats a tad rusty lol
good on you allan. will get the gte moved on sat for you.
will look well when its done mate and me myself havent seen many sliver novas let alone a sliver GSI bet you were gutted to see the rot
get it sorted matey!!! glad you took off the spoiler though dude looks beter without!!
Cheers guys, it's a plus for me that I can weld, have the space, and time doesn't come into it. It might sound stoopid to some that I'm keeping this shell but I feel if I was to reshell it then it would only ever be a replica and not my GSI, anyway it will be good practice on a resto project cos as soon as I've done this I'm doing my GTE, hopefully a good update on Monday or possibly Sunday.
Cheers letnova I'll see you on Saturday .
Looking good mate, keep the pictures and updates coming :thumb:
Small update, got the engine ready to come out today the only thing left connected is the drive shafts, I'm on nightshift this week so won't get the engine out till next weekend.

Looks like you've got a bit of work on your hands but it'll be a nice motor mr boom boom boom ;)
Looking forward to more updates obviously when your not grafting.
What arb is that you got on the rear beam?
......and i was worried about the 1cm hole in my boot!! Look forward to seeing the progress on this one.
lookin good ! give me a shout if you want a hand, im 2 mins away :P
@ MIERAN its a astra gte 16v mk2 rear arb with plates welded on the nova beam to mount it, ill be taking it off in the near future so ill get pics of it and stick them up,
@ GAZ get the welder oot man! get it cut out and welded before it ends up like mine lol
@ ALLY i'll give you a shout when it comes to pulling of the panels mate, just bring a drill and spot weld bits lol
SOUTHIE im wanting to keep it star silver but keep getting notions to put a light coat of pearl through it, but not sure yet,
Such a shame aboutd the rot, but am sure its just about fixable :D
Don't look as bad as this was and look how amazing its turning out!

i seen that thread too
superb amount of work in that build, and that member is only about 20 mins from me but ive never seen the car lol
it goes to show that most novas can be saved if you are able and willing to do it,
I would love to mate, can't weld though...... I should learn really!Quote:
