Hi
Not much more progress, but have now got a small race Gell battery that i'am going to re-locate inside the car.
Also got a bulkhead fitting for the battery cable & coil to so i can also re-locate inside the car.

Martin
looks a mint project!
didn't realise you can gt HT lead extensions like that!
What's the reason for re-locating the coil inside the car? does it lose any strength of signal the further away/longer the lead?
Simps my coil was on the other side of the battrey at one point, with a 3/4 of a meter king lead.. lol was ok.
Only reason for re-locating the coil is to try to neaton up the engine bay.Quote:

Started to get ready to weld the seams in the bay. Mate i used to work with is a coded welder so hoping to get him round in next few weeks. Once thats done got some filling and smoothing to do then paint!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...V/DSC02816.jpg
Made a dolly up to sit the car on so i can push in and out of garage.
Thats about it for my days work!
Didnt really feel in the mood but got a bit done.
Engine build should be starting next week. Looking forward to getting that back.
Cheers
Martin
Great stuff. Looking forward to more.
PM me if the Chrono's ever go out of favour! ;)
How smooth are you going to go?
Liking the dolly mate, does the whole car sit on it or just the front section?
am I being dull - or doesnt your bay have any welding done?

Good plans too mate, cant wait to see it come on.
Funny thing i thought the same Will, but think it might have had just inner wing/turret done before, not sure, but guess Martin will clear this up.Quote:

It does have some welding done already.
When Dave France (Fearless) did the engine conversion he added plating kit & welded turrets etc.
Just thought as i'am now needing to paint engine bay i may as well weld some more.
Dolly is just on the front.
As for how smooth.
Not going to the extreme the VW boys go.
Just a tidy up really and thats it.
I'am on a deadline so dont want to create to much work.
Booked to take Nova to Le-Mans so need it back on road by about May time so i can put some miles on it.
I know thats sounds a long way off, but i work along way from where the car lives so dont get alot of time to mess with it.
Cheers
Martin
Oh right dollys cooool :) And good luck gettin it to le-mans :thumb:

Welded around the seems to try to stop it pulling itself to bits! and done a bit of filling of holes etc that are no longer used.

Next job is to seam seal over what has been welded & abit more filling etc & wait for Ade to give me the nod for paint.
Picked up my catch tank, header tank & strut brace earlier that has been re-polished and also a few bolts etc that were zinc plated and chromed.
As & when i get any more progress i will stick some pics up.

Decided whilst its in bits to run the loom inside the wing to tidy the bay up abit, hence bumber, grille and wing removed.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...V/DSC02929.jpg
Hole plated and filled so no wiring will enter the bay.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...V/DSC02930.jpg
Gave the mesh bit of a tart up wilst it was off also.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...V/DSC02936.jpg
Quick clean up of the oil cooler and mounted that back on.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...V/DSC02922.jpg
Mounted the fuel pump & filter few weeks ago so that is ready to go. Also return fuel line done but forgot to take picture!

Apparently the engine is built but not seen it yet. Should be off to be dyno'd in next few weeks so will get some pics then & post them up.
