my shell has all the plates welded in but i spose a z20let would tear the shell to bits if its not seam welded aswell
Be just the same as a c20let.. You might get away with it.. You might not.Quote:

Do the seams inside the arches and the chassis legs/rails under the car need seam welding.

always advisable and easy to do really while the welder is already out.
Do I do the stitch welding before I weld the plates on? Also where does the stitch welding need to be done? Has anyone got any pics of their engine bays?
Pics are all over this thread.....
Good read thanks chaps
hi guyss. does any1 fancy seam welding me engine bay and welding the plates it for me as a foreigner? im located in northwich cheshire. cheers guys
ive had a good read through this i did ask a stupid question about where the plates go  never mind thanks anyway!! be good to meet up with the group sometime? im near cambridge (Bury St Edmunds). ive looked on the events and meets and will keep a eye out. many thanks!:d
this is my first attempt at stitch/seam welding a nova bay, its a piece of piss to be honest bit of a kant on a mk2 nova as there is seam sealer everywhere! I also did around the engine and box mounts as im not using a weld in kit. Just start on 1 side and follow the seams! Easy peasy

Hi, can someone help me? Info needed.... I have a c16xe in my nova its been rolling roaded at 134BHP and I'm using solid mounts.. Should I stitch weld my engine bay or will it be alright? I've never really thought about it till I just read this thread. Thanks.
I would say you should be ok without doing it, but if you can weld etc I would do it anyway just for the added strength and piece of mind etc
Tweaked Pete and Simps''s'''sss posts to get the pics back.
I know this is an old post but any chance of getting back the pics that aren't showing?
About to stitch weld mine so would be good to see the areas everyone else does
