Another way to tell is the shafts with the 22 spline inners have a balancing weight on the middle of the longer one. In most cases anyway.

or look at the cv joint itself :p, its easy to see which are which without taking apart
We need pics.
There was some a while back, but cant find them.
yes indeed, about half the shafts I see on ebay are not 22 spline
Agreed. Even scrappies are none the wiser. When steve ordered his, we ended up with 28 spline shafts instead which fecked us up completely!
I normally look for the balance weight on ebay, if its missing its a good shout its the wrong shaft.
Do you know why that is? Its because most people wil count the number of splines on the outer part of the cv joint ( the on that goes into the hub). Ah that brings back memories of 30mins of my life I will never get back, tried to explain this to someone over the phone an they were what can only be described as truely stupid.
My 1.2 shafts originally had the balancing weight though Lee...
someone get pics an all will become clear
ive got both, a set of gte shafts and a set of 1.4 shafts, ill put them side by side and take a pic, a set of gte 22 spliners is easy spotted without even removing the cv joint
Aye, the cv's a different type.
I just cant actually see the difference in my head, so pics are required :) Lol
