Its an sr 1 you need but make sure you have a power cap of some sort or you wont get it on as i found out.
im going to stitch weld it...and ive just ordered the strengthening plate kit aswell
i'll also be seam-sealing it all aswell
but i dont know if its worth going to all the effort of really having the inner wings and all really immaculately shiney if you know what i mean.
especially if your not really going to see the most of it
thats why i was thinking that if it was done nicely with gravitex/stonechip or something.....and then well painted in the same colour of the car...it would probably look good enough...and save a hell of alot more work
well the choice is up to you
probably not much help but here is a pic of my engine bay, it has been done now for 3 years and was an everyday car for the first year or so until i pulled it for mostly track use......

that looks sweet dan
ya see ....i'm starting to think that there wont be enough of the inner wings and wotever on show when i fit the injection sytems inlet etc etc.....too warrant having the inner wings perfect
ive a wee patch or 2 to weld in them also.......so i was thinking it would speed my project along alot more if was just done with stonechip stuff...but kept really tidy at the same time
has anyone any other pictures of bays???
especially with the 2.0 8valve in???
Also another 1.6 but I think the engines look similar? I did mine on the cheap with rattle cans and is my daily driver. Welded across the seam on the passenger side and smoothed with filler. It's the OMP GTE strut brace too (straight) opposed to the SR one (bent).

I always try to keep my bay looking tidy, looks much better than oil and crap everywhere.

A mint engine bay doesn't have to cost a fortune, its mainly down to taking your time and doing a neat job, route your cables and pipe work well and just give everything a good clean maybe a lick of paint be for you install everything.
Theres nothing in my bay that cost a fortune, just spent time cleaning / painting everything and routing cables / hoses neatly.
