Woooo lol
A TC with a rover V8. Thats how to own one properly :)
the manifold looks ropey......
triumph actually ran some of these as prototypes back in the day & also ones with stag v8's but internal politics killed that one off... then the change to the rover sd1 killed the triumph 2000 off. i knew a bloke who was involved in triumphs, and they apparently had more than a years worth of orders when they were stopped by management
Im not suprised, the TC just feels better. This bloke has a standard brown one too. Im starting to see a few classics run through me now, has this one for the last 3 years now, ill keep the pics coming of the classics i get in. Yeah i did hear about the stag's V8. I watched the documentary on the whole BL affair, was great watch but was horrific in what went on.
if anyones keen, i know of a 2500 in white for 600. needs a ls2 motor....
Stags frankenstein dolomite V8 is just horrific lol. Quite an interesting story when you look into it. Its a bit of a myth that Triumph refused to use the Rover V8 due to brand rivalry, it was more down to Rover didnt think they could supply enough engines for the anticipated number of stags.
It probably would have been reasonably reliable if the designers weren't useless (far too small mains as well as incorrectly fitting head gasket designs), and the manufacturers weren't sloppy (a lot of failiures were due to swarf left in the blocks and poor head castings iirc)
if you mean the inlet, its an mgb v8 setup.
also down to the fact the water pump has to be shimmed and they were set wrong. a well built stag v8 is actually a very good motor. i'd like a 2500 estate in red with a bmw m3 motor....Quote:
