I just plated mine (as you can see) I would imagine it is a fair bit of work cutting out the old ones. IMO plates are easier and if done properly the welds can be hidden.

Its not that difficult if you take your time (obviously if you have no idea how to weld or no mechanical knowledge then its silly taking on tasks of this nature) if you are capable of welding competently and you are confident in removing the turret successfully (i think its only spot welds) then have a go, there is always some one around to give advice if you get stuck :thumb:Quote:

Pretty much, yeah. Cut out the rot, used some cardboard for templates and then transfer that to metal sheet. Weld in and grind back all the welds. Once a few coats of primer, etc went on a good finish was achieved.Quote:
