Nova > Cavvy TD

Cav Durbo's range from group 8-10, BUT its more of an "old man's" car (sorry spud lol), where as 1200 Novas usually have a high claim rate against them.

I would say so long as the cav remains standard you should be looking to pay a similar price. They may try to rape you a bit as you're changing cars mid term, although at your age you'd be best to take the hit so that you don't lose out on a years NCB.

Plus, the money you'd save on fuel will soon recoup any hike in insurance IMO.

You can always ring them up and ask for a quote of course.

ive never been charged to change cars, ive had 10 cars(ranging massively in price) in 4yrs with 2 different companies, i might just be lucky tho

agree with you on fuel as well, in my astra td i get 50mile for a fiver compared to 30lol

Some companies charge an "admin fee", although if you kick up a fuss they may waive it, especially if you're getting a premium refund.

HIC wanted me to pay them something daft like another £900 on top of the £250 I'd already paid 5 months ago when I swapped my old 1.2 policy to the GT4 (not surprising realy going from group 4 to group 18!). Promptly told them to jog on and cancelled the policy lol

From experience, cav/astra td's are mega expensive to insure
They are grp9-10 insurance (similar to a nova gte/gsi)

I was going to say same as adam, i turned down the idea of a TD astra due to the cost.

my cav is £200 less to insure than the estate, however the estate isnt exactly a normal car to insure

My XE nova only cost me £98 more to insure than my old Astra TD

If your young and half way through your policy they will realise they have you over a barrell and charge what they like. Thats my experience with changing cars with my insurance company.
