torque setting...?

nice one southie, god knows what im going to do about a torque wrench, mine wont go low enough...

yep, mines the same £15 torque wrench, i just set it just belowlol torque settings should be written on the leaflet you get with the hg set anyway

ive been jammy there, the engine is out, ive built a timber frame/stand for it and used some strips of metal bolted onto the manifold studs to hold the head down to avoid having to take the head right off because i only needed to change the cam box, all done now, just got to torque it down, so, i should just set the wrench as low as it'll go? and then do the same 60, 60, 30?

could do with the setting for the flywheel bolts too... mission.

35nm then tighten 30 deg and then a further 15 deg

looking like its going to be worth it though...

nice one mate, i dont suppose you know if theres anything i can do about the problem ive got with the head bolts do you? someones said25 Nm but my sh1te torque wrench only goes as low as 28Nm...?

dude, just set it slightly below 28NM, but not so much the adjusters slack, its what i did! its either that or get one that reads 25NM

cheers jon, do i still do the same 60, 60, 30 afterwards? or do i need to adjust that to make up for the difference of 3Nm? i just really dont want to get it all built up and then blow the head gasket after a week thats all...

all done, got my torque wrench down to 27Nm just about, and did the 60,60,30, hopefully it'll be alright...
