No mate i haven't as yet due to a lack of fundage for a change.
Does anyone know what throttle body would be best to use? original 16xe or 20xe etc?
well a cav/vectra v6 would be to big but a 2.0 8v would probaly be good !
My mates e16se 8v turbo use's a golf mk3 2L 8v TB (IIRC)Quote:

Its handy when you can do stuff like that yourself!
I told you i could sort you a turbo out i'm sure i could do the same for an upgrade at a reasonable cost :thumb:Quote:

The polished finish is achieved by the high frequency vibration of stainless steel beads apparently - no messy buffing involved Benn! I did do some prep on the casting before hand although they do turn out well with out and pre at all.

Now the shiny bits are out the way here are some details on the upgrade:
Basically i have gone for a simple compressor wheel upgrade allowing for more mid range torque and a bit more at the top end as well as the obvious power increase that a higher flowing comp wheel offers.
Another beneficial factor is i could achieved the same power as a standard vxr with lower boost pressure due to the increased ability of the new comp wheel over the standard wheel, or more power at the same boost pressure :D
Here is the standard vxr compressor wheel, its a fairly new design of wheel with a cut back skirt and is capable of flowing 190 bhp easily and 220 bhp at its upper limits

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ksy2010071.jpg
And here is the upgraded comp wheel - its basically and audi TT 225 bhp wheel so its well capable of flowing 225 bhp and would probably see 300 bhp with higher boost

To put things in to perspective here are the two compressor wheels side by side, vxr on the left TT on the right

Its clear to see by eye how much larger the TT wheel is

To finish the upgrade some material needs to be removed from the back plate to accommodate the new larger TT wheel, the shiny ring in the inner circle is were the material was removed from.

Here is the vxr wheel in the compressor cover, you can see how much the compressor cover inlet has been enlarged to fit the TT wheel.

An the new larger TT wheel nice and snug

Looks very pretty, i've seen stuff polished in that way before.. Sadly its not something you can do at home..
