As regards the spring, its upto the MOT tester really at the time, it does say something about lowering springs in the MOT book, basically they can be loose but must relocate correctly.
Mine passed ok, but a mate of mine's failed because they didn't relocate properly when dropped back down (they wasn't coilovers)

Failed on that, both reasons are pretty crap tbh!!!
Wheels its looking like needing smaller wheels for mot, or trying some spacers.
Plates, i need two new plates. I do have the original plates off the car, tried removing the german plate, resulting in it getting bent and splitting, so thats now fcuked.
So i now need a new set of pressed plates too :roll: :roll:
Everything else is sound, tester couldn't believe how solid the underside was for a 25year old car!!! :cool:
He never mentioned the coilover springs being loose with the car fully jacked up.... :)

It handles awesomely, and just pulls and pulls through all gears :D
Plates were cack anyway. Plain plastic ones FTW.

I don't think your plates were legal Ad, the font was wrong IIRC. Not toooo bad for a it's first MOT after you've done so much with it though.
screw the original ones back on for test, the re-fit the other ones after.
I think those type of plates have now become ilegal for road use anyway as they have clamped down on them recently. People who make them have stopped anyway. I liked them though they looked more suited to it.
