Bloody hell, Olly Hewitt! How long has it been? Nurburgring 06? Or was it 05?? Ain't seen or spoken to you for ages! Good build going on here, didn't realise it was you until halfway through reading this post! I'm just starting to rebuild my Nova rally car so will be on here more often now!
Cheers
Ben :thumb:
Long time no see Ben !
2005 trip rocked, the only nova I have now isn't possibly the best vehicle for a trip to Germany in LOL
We'll see though, it may have to get me there this year
Hiya Ben,
Was only the other day, I was looking through our Ring '05 photos, and seeing when we went and did a shoot on your car up in t'mountains lol
Hope you're well, thanks for the comments, its a good laugh the car is.
Just getting it prepped for hillclimbs & sprints now as applying for MSA logbook :)
Long time no see indeed! Was talking to Mr Moran last night too! 2005 trip was good, I'm just having my video put on DVD actually from that trip! Still remember Adam walking along with a roadwork bollard thing!!Quote:

Its a shame you don't live further down this way as my dad could logbook your car for you! :thumb:
Ben
Nothing like a thread going a bit stale, and a bit off topic.
Not alot has happened to the car, in fact - I've not looked at it since Rockingham, and not booked onto anymore days as there is a couple of things I need to do.
I'm trying to buy Kev Turbos Quaife Quik Rack, but for some reason he doesn't want to post it out - so I'm trying to get a way of still getting them from him.
Just ordered 4x new Toyo Proxe 888s from Reyland.co.uk, so thats that sorted, due to get car on ramps tomorrow so I can cure the oil leak around the sandwich plate
Good times!
Handy contact I gave you then ;) Glad he could sort you out.
Where abouts is Kev Turbo from?
he's from yorkshire iirc. i sold my nova to him
Oswestry apparently, which is just on the border of Wales iirc...
Now the thread said he wanted ?85 for it delivered, which is fine - but then says sold... so I'm not sure whats happening with it to be honest...
How much are you paying for 888s then? I have seen them for ?65 each which I think is pretty good?
These were ?58 each from Martin Reyland, and that price is delivered too. Next day :thumb:
Wow, that is good. Tel me what I need to do! lolQuote:

Oh, this thread just keeps getting better:thumb:
You could also do tarmac rallying, you'd enjoy it SOOOO much more than hillclimbslol
I was watching kev turbos for sale thread. Total messer if you ask me. In my eyes the rack was sold to you. For some reason he didnt want to put the rack (in a bin liner) in his "expensive sports car"? He offers postage but doesnt want your money:confused: Furry muff have a look on http://www.eurorallye.co.uk/index.php?cPath=8_13
bloody hell took me ages to read from page one to page 74 lol.
nice one mate looks really good when love the wheels from page one.
would of left them tbh...keep up the good work
that was a long read, keep her lit
thanks for all the comments all :)
Tom - I'll have a look into Tarmac Rallying aswell
t45 ste - Think I've now bought a Quick Rack from 'greg 1.4' providing I don't get messed around lol
Small update from last weekend, albeit very small
Rear up ready for the wheels swap to put my Rainsports on to get it legal for the road so I could get down to the garage to whip the fluffed 888s off

these were on the front for the majority of the rockingham trackday
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0627.jpg
hmmm scrubbbbbbbbbage
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0628.jpg
tyre hotness
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0629.jpg
tyre distortion down to over inflation whilst on track (28psi cold) ooops
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0630.jpg
the sun popped out so i grabbed a pic
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0631.jpg
bay as always, however looking into getting a airbox made
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0632.jpg
corking service and delivery from Reyland.co.uk, new 888s are here!
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0633.jpg
Woot. I want to see them ruined at the end of the day on the 19th :)
hell, i hope not - gotta drive back on those badboys!
oh yeah - another small update - i've been bullied into coming Combe by Lee too, and he said I had to park on the stand lol
looking foward to it, however i dont think i'll have internal shifter and quickrack on in time - but hey ho :)
have they changed the r888 as they look diffrant, and my 888's have worn the same and i run them at 24psi front and 18psi rear, and good to see you at combe
They're identical to the previous set I mashed, however they have released a soft compound, which i didn't opt for lol
Look forward to meeting loads of new faces at Combe! just gotta call the circuit and book on for a few more sessions :)
Oh, had my licence application accepted too, so I'm proud to say that my "Non-Race National B" licence is in the post to me as we speak.
I don't need to get my car MSA logbooked according to Dar, as my car is road legal with an MOT - so thats a bonus.
All I'll need is white squares on the doors, and an FIA approved fireproof race suit! :) good times.
Good to hear you will be at Combe :)
I'll try and keep out of your way on track if your in the session booked for png. lol
good new's they are the same as i just ordered 2 new ones from rayland thanks to your recommendation should be with me in the morning:thumb:
Good price on the tyres:thumb:
I looked at them tyres and though nahh there not too bad, then i saw the new ones, lol
Fair play, i must get some for my Cesaro's, but at the mo im more worried about getting/keeping the passat on the road as ive had loads of probs with mot work etc.
Scott
Just seen the pics, fook me those 888's were well passed there best,Lol.
Have you tried a 2/3mm spacer on the rear? May sort that rubbage issue.
Could possibly get away with 2mm, but with them being 50 profile tyres, and quite low pressures, they tend to bulge, and they're not far way from the "lipless" arch as it is... but as you say - will give it a go for sure!
I'm intending on going on the PNG session as Lee has a ticket for me, and already threatened me if I don't go on, and I want to book another 4 if possible!
Just had confirmation email cah0000000t
"We are pleased to confirm that your 2008 Competition Licence has been sent
for printing today and you should receive your credit card licence within 6
working days."
