Congrats on the pass Craig and I've got me fingers crossed its not the HG [just incase it makes a difference!]. As you say a few miles will make it clearer as it could be because its stood for so long.
Is the oil still a nice non-milky colour?

Not much to report, other than the rear seats are back in & I hope to have it taxed & insured next week.

I have sorted the gear selection/linkage issue. It must've slipped.
My mate has just bought a shell & XE etc with loads of bits over the weekend so there might be another to add to the local contingent.
My linkage snapped on friday night, be ive changed it now.
Got hold of a kent cam of a mate, and also have a powder coated fuel pump hanger and bottom pulley to go on.
Want to change the wheels but cant decide, Wont look original!
Bummer with the linkage. Not the easiest things to get hold of these days.
Wheels have to be et49mm offset IMO.

Nah, its still slipping mate. But the linkage had moved in relation to the selector, hence selector issues with 1st & 2nd. It goes OK but the clutch doesnt like full throttle. :(Quote:

I have looked at the clutch cable but its not that I dont reckon. When I bought the engine, there was talk of it having a slipping clutch when it was on the rollers, but I was lead to believe it was sorted. clearly not. I'll put up with it for a few weeks anyway. Not like I'm going anywhere special or far.
I did try & tax it lkast night, but the DVLA website wouldnt let me as my insurance details hadnt made it onto the database. (I guess)

If it still hasn't turned up you could always do what I did, phone or email your insurance company and ask them to email you the certificate, print it out and get it taxed. I had no problems at the post office.Quote:

Whilst taxing it online seemed a good idea, theres all the talk of being able to drive it or not whilst the tax disc is in the post. There is a loop hole (in the law about displaying a valid tax disc at all times) where you have a period of grace without the disc but only if the new disc preceeds one that just ran out. Mine doesnt preceed the last disc as thre is nearly a 5 year gap.
Anyhow. Documentation arrived & I have a tax disc in my hand.

Normally I have a carefree attitude towards tax etc but I wasnt in a rush to go anywhere in it & dont fancy a fine or even being pulled tbh.
