Beautiful Joff. Love the idea for the rear speakers - looks great!
Ref badges: Lose the nova badge and put the 888 on your grill?
Also, drop the back just a little more ;)
Simps.
(Looking forward to meeting you at PV)
personally i like the lettering as it is! its different - the car isnt standard, so why go for standard lettering.
its a personal touch and the car is styled to YOUR taste and not to impress everyone else - you have done that with the amount of work !
This car is going to weigh so much with all the ICE and MDF and what not lol :thumb:
What about the 888 badges under the side repeaters?
I would leave the boot plain and simple :)
Personally Joff, i'd loose all the badges.
And replace the 888 with a Vynal Sticker ! Should look more flush and neat, in keeping with the rest of the car.
I'd prehaps think about putting a vynal 888 under each side-repeater.
I wouldn't have stickers full stop, but you've gone to alot of effort to match it to the 888 spec, so may as well !
Edit - Or 888 the Grill, like someone said up there ^^^
No badges gets my vote
Not keen on the badging tbh.
Its like there is a 15 yr old car stuck to the front of them! (thats what I say about my GF's car tho)
Sorry joff, my PMing thing has broken. the site is www.speeding.co.uk not .com
I'd put the 888 badge where (GSi) usually is and take off Nova
olix99 vbmenu_register("postmenu_683490", true); i was on about the oil cooler in the arch i sure know the diffrence between the fmic rad and a oil cooler
it looks very low hanging in the arch

Loose all badges unless its just a GSI or SR vinyl etc, if you have to have a badge keep just the 888 and I agree with possibly putting it on the grille
Sorry mate but you gotta lose the 888 badge, I love the project and all the original ideas but it has never been or ever will be an 888!
I dont want to say too much as I may upset you but that badge should only be on an original 888 imo(Being an Astra 888 owner myself), that is why you need a V5 to buy spares.
Agreed :thumb:Quote:

you don't own an 888 so how would you know! I do own one and I know that Vauxhall will not release 888 specific parts without the vehicles chassis number.Quote:

ANYWAY enough arguing, back to the subject of Joffs car please Sorry fella!
Releasing parts without a chassis number is quite common...
Down at my Friends dads ralliart Mitsi dealership they like to know the Chassis Numbers for the Evo parts.
When i went to Honda to get a Jazz Wiper, they wanted a chassis number too.
Stealers will normally ask for a chassis number for any part if they had anything about them so they can order the correct part for that vehicle.
I work at a dealer and our parts lads always ask for the chassis number as there may be 2 or 3 slightly different parts even for the same model.
Dealers would not be able to sell you 888 parts as Vauxhall would not release them to the dealer unless you could 'borrow' a chassis number.
I might not own an 888, but my mate is parts manager at Pentagon Vauxhall, supplied a lot of Joffs parts and others on this site incl. Me, Ian Storey, Lee H. I rang him, and he said the only reason they ask for chassis number is because a lot of the parts are non-standard and it's easy to supply the wrong parts. He said he would order/supply parts with no chassis no. but if they are wrong, you can't have a refund! My wife is an accountant for BMW and they're like that with M-sport parts.......Quote:

Still shouldn't have ANY badges though Joff!
I also work for BMW & they will not release M Power or Cooper S parts without the chassis number, we cannot physically order them without it. Its to try and stop people sticking M3 badges etc on there 318i SE.
You can order standard Vauxhall part without the chassis number but not 888 items as it stops people building replicas etc & cheapening the original product.
joff thats one of the tidiest novas about! looks good!
Lose the badges mate, don't cheapen it with stick on bits!
Looking v good though otherwise!

Parts manager at Pentagon Vauxhall main dealer says he'll order 888 stuff without chassis number! That's all i'm saying!
get the 888 badges remade in the same style but with 666
Good call!!!
fcuk badges off IMO, ruins what is otherwise a superb car.
loss the badges will look better. the car does look the bollcks :thumb:
Its illegal for a manufacturer to insist on a log book to order in parts. BMW do try it with there M sport bits etc but if you questioned the legality they would soon let you do it.
The reason why vaux can apply it in the 888s case is because it wasn'ta main stream manufactured car, it was a specialist conversion if you will. They wanted to do the same thing with the VXR but couldn't.
So, you CAN NOT buy 888 parts without the log book unless you have a friend ;)
you can buy all the 888 parts from the vxr performance center, sell the interior, tunning pack, wheels suspension and so on....
Ask joff how he got his badges:roll:
But they can ask for a chassis number??Quote:
