you never fail to amaze me James, most people would be bricking it that it didn't line up... all in your stride, as always! :thumb:

lol thanks peeps lol
I feel really good after tonights mince as you will see why in a minute...
Picked up were i left off last night finishing off the N/S rear cage to turret mount
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats001.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats005.jpg
Then some strengthening again
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats006.jpg
This ended up here
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats008.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats010.jpg
And all done - thats nearly the cage mounting finished WOOP WOOP!!!
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats012.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats014.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats011.jpg
I then started to think about what i still had to do while the cage was in (as i need to take it out to mount the cage feel spreader plates) and i thought a ha the seats.
I need the cage in place to work out were i can mount the seats due to the clearance regarding the seats 'ears'
Here's how i got on
I started by doing away with the original seat mounts (yes more fecking spot welds!) but at least i'm loosing metal not adding it
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats015.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats016.jpg
I will say these are the worst to remove out of everything that is spot welded down in a nova imo as the metal is thick and the spot welds are unobviously positioned meaning missage is rife resulting in certain holage doh! lol
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats018.jpg
And the rest removed taking about an hour
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats024.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats023.jpg
this is what was removed
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats027.jpg
And this is the end result with all the sh!t cleaned out - much better i did hit it with the air blower after i took this shot also.
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats029.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats028.jpg
Now its all cleared out i can start positioning the seats
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats030.jpg
Yer baby
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats034.jpg
And some arty attempts just for you Olly (admittedly you do it best ;))
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats035.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats038.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats036.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats040.jpg
Proper mounting al la subframe fitment etc to follow enjoy for now :D :D
they look awesome lol, cage and seats are just wow
p.s. have you still got the bump strips??
Thanks Gunny and yup still got them :D

Thanks Ian yours is making good progress now good work!
Pimp seats
Seats look awesome, good idea with the cage to turret mounts they look tops, i take it your bolting the cage all into place then?
Scott
Awsome work as ever mate, good choice in seats too, same as mine lol you'll be pleased to hear there really comfortable as well as supportive too, and look the bollocks!!!
just discovered this thread. Plenty of inspiring fabrications! i'm inspired to finish the welding on mine now, cheers!
Seats look cool.
Very nice
Thanks everyone the seats are Ollys -(Track day novas) old ones and i fell in love the first time ever sat in them they are the t!ts and i love them!
Does anyone know if you can get replacement covers for them?
Scott the cage will be comming out once i've mounted the seats then i will be bolting the cage into place once i've painted every thing etc.
gotta love the seats, is the car staying silver or going a different colour
Right thought i'd update this as i haven't for ages  :p
I cracked straight on with fitting the seat rails for the subframes - i started by cutting up these 50x65mm rectangles (3mm plate btw) for the ends of the seat rails
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats041.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats042.jpg
I then marked out the rough area and cleaned it up with a sanding disc. Once i was happy with the positioning i tacked them in and made some more measurements and adjustments
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats044.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats045.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats046.jpg
Thats good enough for me
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats047.jpg
So i welded it in for good
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats048.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats049.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats050.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats051.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats052.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats053.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats054.jpg

Tacked it in
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats061.jpg
Adjusted a little and welded some more (then the camera battery began to die and with it went its ability to flash...)
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats062.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats063.jpg
I'm happy with the results - as you can see its all level every way
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats064.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats065.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...ndseats067.jpg
Now all i need to do is drill the holes for the subframe and its on to the other side :thumb:
John i was waiting for some one to pick up on this - corsakid i hope this answers your question....a little different i know but, i have my reasons :D ;)Quote:
