chose it over c20xe as I think there a little dated (that'll get some comments) and I got this engine for £450 and I no a guy in japan who can get me cheap quality aftermarket parts so I only need spend about £800 on it to have a modern 200bhp@ wheels motor
Aiming to be finished by September ish depending on cash flow
no need to narrow it down they are all sh1te i have had from a 1.0l 12v corsa to a 3.0l v6 eco and every thing between and they hav all been **** .egr problem / can chain stretch / oil pumps / head gaskets on many of them . not to mension the power they DONT have even t.v mag did a write up on the 1400 and 1600 16v motors and it was said they were only any good for 60'000 miles . anyway back to topicQuote:

The 1400 & 1600 16v ecotec engine's are used in so many forms of motorsport and are very tunable, if they are so bad why do so many people use them? Obviously that part of your argument is from what you read in a magazine but I've seen and worked on plenty of high mileage ecotec engines of various sizes and plenty are still going strong.
Sounds good, Im using a c20xe only due to getting it cheap! I like what your doing and can totally see why! I will enter myself into a project when i have time and money! good luck! will be lots of fun when finishedQuote:

As for using a c20xe if you make the most of what you've got to work with you can't go wrong
