What box would you suggest out of curiosity?

IMO A f20 will be ideal, and if not then go down the F28 route, I agree that a F13 or 15 will **** itself which that much torque as even a F20 can struggle with 200lb ft

lol at reading things properly (i already have my engine) £220 plus vat is a good price (any idea how they will affect the comp in the x16xe? will it be the same as the vxr engine, or is the head different on the vxr engine also?)

Is there a strong small block box? anyone?

I'n not actually sure when i will be building the engine as it depends on funds etc again :( and i want a new tig welder and a trailer.

I would assume an F28 would fit easily enough as i think the F20 isn't an issue, iirc you use the flywheel and clutch for the box you wish to fit?

put of the f20 a little for having to sit at high rev's when cruising at a decent speed, this always used to anoy me with my xe. iirc darcy has fitted a f28 on a small block !

Cruising isn't something i plan on doing lol and the F28 is also heavier again and i would have to faf with the mount so an F20 should be fine for now, i can understand the F28 being more attractive for a road car though.

i need to find out the cc of both heads to see but i would take a wild guess say it would be about right, im after a trailer aswell lol

iirc darcy fitted on but it wasnt very simple i will find out mate :thumb:

what gear box is on the vxr ??? im sure its 6 speed ???

The box "should" bolt straight up surely ? either way you would need a small block clutch with a F28 centre spline which is available from Helix but not off the shelf.

Personally though I totally agree that a F28 will upset the handling too much so I'd try and avoid it if you can.

My F18 took a years worth of abuse with a stock xe and dozens of bottles of gas, I sheared the teeth off it when going airborn and using the magic spray ! Atleast a F18/F20 is dirt cheap to replace and I can't see it causing any issues really with such low power.

Oh and LOL @ Browney moaning about cruising speed of the F20 lol

If you want to cruise at high speed buy something that does it well ! ie: not a nova lol
