No I turned the engine off myself when it hit 3/4 on the gauge. The fan doesn't come on at all (unless I bridge the rad sensor plug in which case it does) - but it's a new sensor so am ruling that out.

Does the fan come on if you bridge the switch wires?
Edit-Thats a yes then. So either the switch is faulty, or theres an air lock or something so that part of the rad isnt getting warm.
ah ok, my bad - as ad says, though if youve done any crimping/solering anywhere along the earth wire of that loom; worth checking.
The thermostat bleed hole has rounded off (the one bolt I didn't undo for no reason during the entire rebuild lol) so whats the best way to ensure there's no airlock?
i thought if you remove the cap from the expansion tank, run it up to temp then it bleeds itself ?
yeah^ thats how i do it. 3/4 may not be enough on the guage for the fan to come on
I normally do the cap off thing, But couple of times ive needed the cap on to get it to bleed.
i would leave the cap on .
to build the presher up
sound's very much like a air block or a faulty part is the stat new?
Yeah stat was new as well as the rad temp sensor.
Looks good, shouldn't the brake line run under the brace?
Heater looks good.
