White car. White wheels job done, aslong as they match, ie like you said the wheels are to bright for the car.
Just start it for a min or so and if the light stays on then turn it off lol

Hmm interesting Spudly, not sure why your light didn't go out.
I found this post on MIG which looked quite interesting, talking about some sort of air lock in the pump:

So I attached some spare plastic fuel pipe to my oil can:

Whipped the bolt out:

Stuck it up there and pumped some oil in. Then cranked it by hand a few times and repeated the process until oil was dribbling out of the hole:

Cranked it on the starter and the oil light went out after about 20 seconds, result! And here's a video of the first ever start-up:

Oil has reached the top end now anyway, its nice and oily when you look down the filler cap hole. I just need to plumb in the cooling system and replace a leaky fuel hose (feed to fuel rail) and I can run it up to temperature.
Carriers, calipers and braided brake lines connected up, standard (rusty lol) discs and Mintex 1144 pads in ATE 256mm calipers:

Armed with my shiny new +10bhp exhaust rubbers:

I started fitting the exhaust:

But it's never going to fit as this kink (to avoid the shifter) hits the tunnel, d'oh! Looks like I'll have to chop it up after all, might fit an extra box to quieten it down and straighten it up:

Glad you finally sorted it lemon bet that was a relief when she fired:thumb:
You look like a proper charver in that vid you little hoodie:p
I think you meant 'irrelevant' mr Alex and although i didnt leave it turning over for a minute it was a fair while, was always told not to leave a car turning over on the starter too long anyways as it can damage the start solenoid and other such stuffs, but i see what you mean as it should in theory gradually build up enough pressure to put the light out after a while!
Good to finally have it running, Just need to sort it all and run it up to temp for the first time!
Spud, A starter is cheaper than a engine rebuild.
lol at all the fannying with oil etc but then not having any coolant or an exhaust lol
Bet your made up now aint you Iain?
Quiet Andy lol Coolant and exhaust aren't fatal to engine internals
Yep it's some good progress so pretty chuffed :d
