A quick update, so whilst I await a quote from the blasters to finish off the shell.

I thought I'd crack on with my mate Glen, welding the front (well til we ran out of gas FFS)

Ive found a blaster who is sensibly priced, shell wil be being blasted on Monday with a bit of luck

I guess when it's blasted, you will have to move quick to get it in primer.

Ill spray the whole thing with etch primer when i bring it home.

Can you not coat it in weld-through primer so there's less to clean off should you need to weld more areas?

weld through primer... link?

Only seen it in spray cans from people like UPOL (Weld #2 I think), dunno if you can get it in tins for gunning on or if it's any good TBH! :)

Whats sencibly priced?

I have a blaster, and am toying with building a rig in the garage, and just "buying" the shot, and binning it after its gone etc.

Its dirt cheap, but will be messy, will the waste of the shot, outweigh the cost of having it done?

you cant have researched buying the shot if you think it cheap matt !!!

If im gonna use it on a car, it mayaswell be one shot.

The reusable stuff is around £25 for a 25kg bag:thumb:

you want at least 10 maybe 15 bags to do a car :)

25 kg is going to do you about 12 square inches lol

Or, just wire wheel it instead.

I do all my suspention, brakes, etc in mine, and its finelol

I wanted to start from fresh Mike, this may turn out to be a longer project than I first thought, as I have a few ides running through my head, but need to think about it a bit more first.

Wasnt much Matt under half what all the other sand/shotblasting places said, if that gives you an idea, and on a bank holiday aswell!

Dipping is the new blasting :)

Dipping is very pricey though. Worth it of you can afford it!

How much was the blasting Paul.
