Shame you live so far away Joff. Would love to come and have a good sniff round the car. We could also swap "exciting" financial advisor stories too! lol

Joff
Flock me! Looking good there mate :thumb:
i've always wondered....why have two dash's??
nice progress joff look great as always! think he has two dashs so the passenger can see the silly speeds he doing haha!!
good progress, who did your visors? is it just alcantara folded back at the edge and glued down? ?? need something similar done with leather!
seen your starting vid on tube of you lol, looks good
keep us updated
and also joff, you know theres usually 1 or 2 digi dashes for corsas and cavaliers knocking around on fleebay?
amazing joff, lost for words. nuff said !
:thumb:
Just to be different really, the corsa dash lends itself to do this conversion as it is almost identical on each half and its an idea I had about 2 years ago and wanted to implement.Quote:

The funny looking strip on the top of the cowl is actually a shift light. Usually found on bikes I thought it would look quite cool and practical as well !
Joff
Gotta clean up those stalk rubbers Joff!
Back to black is usually a winner.
Looking mint Joff.Countdown to PVS?

Also got the Pioneer headunit faceplate working again. Its mounted in the sunvisor again to be different . It all works and is connected with a 9 core multicable.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...nova/ice1a.jpg
I have just had the pleasure of soldering all the connections and then heatshrinking the job.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...nova/ice2a.jpg
Just need to make up some speaker pods on the doors and some ICE in the boot and we're about there!!!!
Nova is off on Friday to the sprayshop for some final touch ups. Gets its MOT and tax at the same time so we will be road legal next week.
Just got out my tax disc holder. Last tax ran out September 03 !!!
Joff
you never siece to amaze me!!:thumb:

Top work joff, the twin digidashes look proper funky. Lol

That is the only word I can say to this build, Its unbelievibley Complex and very well thought through and you can see its done to an extremely high standard. Awesome car.
Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
Well done mate.
Ian
Just Amazing Joff! Love it
keep it up i just love reading this thread
unbelieveable mate, and about time it was back on the road
Small Update .....
Sorted out the inner kickwells with the small speakers for the satnav PDA (found out that because the car is so loud you can't actually hear the instructions on the PDA!)
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ova/kick3a.jpg
All flocked up and ready to fit!
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ova/kick4a.jpg
Also got the door cards out - need some speaker pods molding into the door pockets at some point - retirmmed in the same alcantara as the seats :-
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...doorcard1a.jpg
Also got the Sparco harnesses out and cleaned them up - bought these in July 2003 according to the box!
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15.../harness1a.jpg
Next jobs are to start sorting out the ICE install in the boot.
Joff
looking good joff keep it up!cant wait to see it finished at pvs!
how hard was the stereo mod can you give a breif guide on how you made it work
parts of the car i love, engine etc
parts i hate - interior, some of the styling
but i must admit theres some nice touchs and very orignal work here mate
i remeber the red car at the first pv show i went to and inspired me back then, great history on the car
can only admire you for the work
great build enjoyed the updates
keep them coming and hope it all goes well when it hits the road
This took a while to sort out mainly due to trying to find a head unit with not too many connections between the faceplate and rear unit.Quote:

All I needed to do was solder a wire to each side of the connection point on both the headunit and face plate - 9 in total
Thankfully there was sufficient power to run the faceplate so I then modded up the sunvisor by removing the light unit from an SRI sunvisor and mounted up the faceplate. Headunit lives under the front seat and the CD changer is in the glovebox.
I ran the system like this when the Nova was running before this rebuild and has been working like this for about 3 years.
Quite funny really that I bought the headunit and CD changer brand new - and its never been installed as standard - its always been run with the link cable lol lol Glad it worked !
Hope this helps
Joff
Thanks for the feedback .... I'm building this car for me so some of the styling I'm doing is personal to me .... I'm not building it to please the masses!Quote:

Put the nova back onto its wheels and had a bit of a problem. The coilovers were height set before I put the engine ancillaries and interior in. When I lowered to the ground I couldn't get my jack out
Out the with C-spanner and a bit of fiddling with the coilovers and its now sitting fine and I can get my jack out !!!!
Forgotten how low it is when its sitting on its wheels !!
