They were off the Sport so just thought it would be 'correct' to call them Sport stuff as I'd be lying if I said they were GTE ones!Quote:

It's definately staying red though :)
good progress mate
Cheers fella - Trying to squeeze the car in when I'm working as well is a pain but it's slowly getting there
Red sounds goodQuote:

Nope no Sport decals mate - Got something else lined up for it if all goes to plan :)
nice work lad but please hurry up and get it painted,im really excited lol
you painting it yourself??
lol Taking my time with the bodywork prep so it's as close to spot on as possible lol
Yes fella, I am painting it myself! Nothing to lose if I have a good and I've all the equipment there as well :) and some basic knowledge
fair play mate,be all your own graft on it then.Much respect:thumb:Quote:

you cant go wrong if you can paint and aslong as theres no runs then it will polish up and theres always colour sanding to remove orange peel
fair ****s to you lad its easy enough to spray anyway :)
Got all that ahead of me mate - Not going to be a MINT paintjob but at the end of the day the car isn't going to be MINT - As soon as it's on the road it's going for a good blast to see what it's like lol
It's not going to just sit there and look pretty...Unless the bank balance says otherwise haha lol
Picked up another very good nick brown carpet set with NO centre console and NO centre console hole :) Perfect!!!

Got my drivers back arch tidyed up today and into a wee bit of primer to see what I had it looking like;

Very happy with how they turned out for only having basic knowledge atm, couple of wee nicks need sorting and some scratch marks rubbed out but apart from that I'm happy :)
Can't wait to get it completed! Also got my battery leads from a PNG member and got them rigged up today and had the engine turning over as well
Going to get some plug leads and make a temp fuel tank and hopefully fire it up!!! Sounds like it wants to go but I'll know better when the engine's more complete
Comments welcome
Cheers, Vaughan :)
Looking good, but check the swage line where the bumper would meet. (not picking just trying to help.)
I think you need to be a little more critical with the arch lip & the line above the wrap around of the bumper. I'd be happy having done it myself, but with a wheel, bumper & paint that line wont have much definition or straightness. Just my opinion.Quote:

It looks a lot better in person and doesn't look too bad with a bumper up against it :)
Fair enough. glad you accepted my constructive criticism.
crack on!
I always accept comments like that - I'll have a look at it the next time I'm down but I'm pretty sure there OK
My mate was in looking at it and he said they look good and I said 'Apart from this bit' and he was about 2cm away from it to see a minor flaw lol So they can't be that bad
We'll see when there painted though - I'm not setting out to build a show car, just want a clean mechanically sound fun toy :thumb:
Guild coat the primer before you rub it down and yes a long hard block. It will show up any high/low points.
I'm going to mate :) Needs some good thick primer on it due to the size of the 'repair'
Doesn't matter about the side, its the sanding that needs a nice thick high build primer.
Getting there mate :thumb:
Cheers, hope they turn out good and I hope the whole thing turns out good - As they say, it's all in the prep :)
Very nice mate, much respect as I wouldn't be able to do anything like that tbh
Looking at the pics I see where Craigs coming from, the line just above the bumper slider holes looks like you may need a lil more filler IMO
Nice to hear your painting it yourself tho, respect again.
Ahh right Edd I see what you mean now, I'm pretty sure that bit's fine but I'll have a look when I go in and if it needs sorted I'll stick a nice wee skim on it at both sides :)
Coming along nice fella keep up the good work!
Cheers mate :)
IT LIVES! Bought some new plug leads at the weekend, earth strap from a Corsa to the bulkhead and a Nova 1.0 gearbox earth strap - Got it wired up roughly by my mates Dad some fuel into the carb and a couple of turns and she went!!! Great feeling hearing it breathe into life after being stationary for so long lol
Also bought 2L of 2k Flame Red paint today! Some hardner and thinners and some etch primer - Couple of other wee bits and pieces to buy then the paint work can start! Couple of wee bits on the body still to tidy up but it's really getting there now
Comments welcome
Cheers, Vaughan
nice one mate , will look good all painted up , am painting my bay the mora hopefully lol
I hope the painting turns out well lol Going to do the door checks and backs of the panels 1st to see what kinda finish I can achieve
I reckon it should be an OK job though - Not going concourse or show car standard, just want a clean and tidy rot free Nova to horse about in lol
just make sure the floors wet and theres plenty of heat in the area you painting and its nice an clean and take your time and youl be ok mate
Going to do that mate :) Just going to take my time as well make sure it's spot on
Just want to be able to say I done it whether it's good or bad - Pointless no even trying in the 1st place
thats what i say about all mine theyve never seen body shops just my garage lol
I'll have done all/most of the bodywork prep on mine as well except the actual fitting of the back arches and delocking of the doors but the rest is done by me...Not perfect by any means but it'll look the part and hopefully last a good while :)
remember and use fast air dry hardner when pianting it mate
F*ck knows what hardner I got - Just told the guy my situation and he sorted me out with stuff lol
Just add a wee bit more if need be to speed up the process :)
