Got the plugs on ebay, genuine ford RST's.
I've just put a tempory closed loop on the turbo to remove the control of the amal valve. So it could be amal valve or chipset problem. But now it holds 13/14psi right to the redline in every gear. Doesnt cut or hesitate etc.
Waiting on some further advice, but rather than spending money on a new amal i'll just remove it and go with an Apexi.

Seems a good option Apexi, I hate the look of them, (up there with pillar gauge pods), but they are good for what they do.
Got a link to seller of the plugs by chance?

The only reason I prefered to leave my amal in place is because its a fail safe. Because its linked to the ecu if a problem is detected it can rain in the boost and potentially save your engine.

True Simps. I'm awaiting on a reply from David @ V-tuning who supplied the chips, see what he suggests.

I have just put an Apexi AVCR on mine - still getting to grips with setting it up correctly 3 weeks later lol lol lol
If you get one have a look at my WIP thread as it shows you how to install these on the Vauxhall engines and which wires to connect to.
Glad you have narrowed it down - gives me sleepless nights when things like this happen!

Awesome project Keith, the cars fapping stunning! A real credit to your self.
Im sorry if i have missed them, but do you have any pictures of your equal legnth driveshaft?
A mate of mine has just fitted one onto his LET corsa and he said it makes the world of diffrence. His fitted straight on with no modding but i believe it does on a nova as a nova is slightly narrower than a corsa.
Cheers Ben.

Keith, you can hide an apexi away to the right of the steering cowling (ledge above the fuse box), imo it looks tidy there.
When i had the car mapped i was told to leave the apexi in manual mode as they are pish and wonder all over the place, im sure Rick was told the same.

Cheers Dan. I've the car back on a closed loop as a new amal didnt solve the huge overboost problem.
I'm going to try a different ECU next, and if that doesnt solve it then i'll get a Greddy pro b spec II. It's still ****ing awesome at 13psi though!!

Not updated this in ages.
I've been sorting out all the niggles before Billing and my Ring trip, and getting some creature comforts.
The oil feed pipe was leaking like a bitch, thought it was sump gasket etc etc, as one little drop of oil gets everywhere and always fools you into thinking it's coming from somewhere else. So I got a nice new one made and fitted that. Also put some dowty washers on all the seals. Good times!
Also bought an alpine ipod/iphone cd player, some alpine type R components, and commissioned my friend Steven McLaughlin (master of fiberglass) to make some door pods. I then sent them to Autoflock to be flocked (awesome job and service, highly recommended)
Finally I've fitted my wideband lambda sensor and gauge.

Now I just need to give it loads of wax and a proper inside clean before Billing!
