Cheers people :)
Tom-Ive done a few stitches around the x-member/tie bar double skin plates yeah, but left it at that. Both sides now have a plate over the crossmember where the tie bar brackets bolt on too.
Most of the bay is now im primer, sanding down/removing the sound deadening glue was a nightmare!!!! Can still see some of it through the primer, so going sand further and then get some filler primer on there...
Yeah the early ones had those bumpers without the cutout for the gte rear lip, (obvious really as the gte hadnt been invented then lol)Quote:

Im going use some "dark grey trim" paint that my local factors sells. Ive seen it used it before and it looks a perfect match for the original plastic colour... Plus it'll never fade :)
The smoother rear bumper looks nicer imo, so i'll respray the white one
Ah right, mayhem was using some bumper paint which looked almost factory, not the same stuff is it?
Maybe....
Any links?
Theres a link on the last couple of pages on his project page, looks like a good match.
just caught up with this ad , looking very good mate ,
shame to see white one gone though lol
Cheers Carl :)
Bay is now in primer, will be putting some colour on tomorrow after work! :)
This is the 2nd make of the same colour ive bought, but this one looks like it'll match spot on :)
Nice welding Adam, looking good dude :thumb:
It inspires me to try welding the bay up on my own car myself!
What are you doing regards the exterior, are you having a respray dude or going with the current paint?
Good progress though!
