Few odd pics from what I've done this weekend, nothing that exciting to report although I've had the engine cranking over on the starter motor till the oil light went out so should be ready for starting when it's wired up and fuel lines are made.
Chilly conditions to be working outside but its gotta be done:

First off I whipped off my coilovers to see if I could cut down the bumpstops. Bumpstop is 45mm tall, the shock bottoms out about 3cm further than the bumpstop so probably would have been able to remove 2cm...

Except one of the pistons has somehow got damaged underneath the bumpstop! No idea how, but I wasn't happy with this passing through the seal so they're back on as they were now :(

Next up, this had somehow broken which meant the clocks were only half working:

Carefully I dabbed some solder to it, then tinned a wire and joined it to the circuit, job jobbed:

Rest of the wiring MESS I need to attend to:

To make all my "aftermarket" things nice and neat I'll be installing this secondary fusebox:

Next up, dug my Ashley 4-2-1- exhaust manifold out and modified it to clear thethermostat housing. Shaved off the markings on the stat housing too so it would go on straight:

Looks chunky!

Route past the sump looks ok too, doesn't hang too low.

I did plan to weld in a lambda boss with the idea it could be used for AFR tools etc at a later date, but the manifold join is straight after the shaft so I can't see anywhere suitable for it.
excellent work as usual.
how bad is the damage to the shock? could you not emery tape it untill its quite smooth?
Not sure what has happened to the shock, it's very rough to the touch and looks like the shiny stuff has many chipped or flaked off?
If I ever need lower in the future I'll get some new shorter bodied coilovers, meh.
painting or wrapping the mani?
(whotf is Iain? re-insate Iainel now! lol)
Painting, looking for some suitable paint at the moment...
Looking good mate, nice to see your still getting stuff done even when someone keeps distracting your attention away from it! lol
Don't mention that "w" word, I feel your pain! lol
Did you have a nosey to see if you had any mk2 clocks?
Id wrap the manifold with black wrap tbh.
No paint ever stays on them as they rust from the inside out.
