Nice one Iain, really is coming along now :)
What's the problem upfront then, has the piston gone into the shock body much already then?
One thing I will say though is I think the bumpers ruin the look of the car so far. Not saying you need a gsi bumper or that, just the faded grey looks ****e against the spankingness of the rest of the car, they just need a lick of paint in my opinion.
Can't wait to see it running though mate

Cheers. The bumpers are untreated at the moment but in fairly good condition so I'll attack them with an array of products and heat gun to darken them up.
Yeah the spring is wound down so there's not a huge amount of travel left in the shock piston, it's not really a problem TBH I just won't be getting "show car" level lowering lol
-
Oh are those the bumpers you are keeping on Iain?
If so, i agree with Ian's comment.
Its miles too clean and fresh to have those 20year old faded bumpers on!
EDIT-Posted before reading above reply lol

iain have you actually stripped them down to find out how much piston travel there actually is. i know that spax rsx bump stops are about an inch and half bigger than they need to be. thats how i was able to run so low on them because i chopped the bump stops
-
Told you, get short bodied, If you can get the front lower while keeping the rear a little higher its going to give you a bit more front end grip due to weight transfer?
-
I dont run bumpstops on my front AVO's

I've tried most methods and 'back to black' products, they are useless.
Get some of this:

No need to prime etc just clean the bumper and spray.

Should have given me a shout for an oil run - looks like you're cracking on well dude - i only seem to be going backwards (with the nova and the bm!)
-
Oh yeah, bumpers - heat gun!

I'll look at the bumpstops/travel issue another time, I'll focus on getting it going first :) Will check out the bumpstops when I come to look at it though Burgo, see if they can be cut down.
Mieran do they do a dark grey one? I've seen videos of people using the heatgun method to good effect so I'll give that a go first.
