Though I agree on TH's for looks, I can't wait to see it on MO's. Should look hardcore.
One set each side for Billing??

doh! thats the same gay thing stu said lol lol lol
Tbh because the th's as said 'look' right, the mo's look more like 13's in comparison and look lost in the arches. Obv they aren't as 15" is exactly that, but the visual impact is massive.
Or maybe is just a fact i've never really been to bothered with mo's and now i have a set of my own i'm still the same lol
God no Dan, you have to stick the MO's on for billing!!!! Pleasey weasey!!!
I Agree, or as said two sided car! lolQuote:

Ah the same as going for TB's lol lol
Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens at the weekend.
Scott
i didnt pay for the wheels, they were a gift/bonus ;) lol lol
As regards the mo's they are staying at home, every dog and his dick fits "mo's" as soon as they build a remotely motorsport orientated nova. Seen more than a few last year at billing. However, how many nova's were wearing th's and more to the point ones where the inner area was recessed and not raised ;).
I rest my case your honour lol

I rest MY case :p
meh. It's a trailer queen anyway.
lol lol they dont look wide from the side though, just like 13's, just like all the other cars wearing them on the day. erm i have seen many many many sets of mo's that wide in my time, so for me personally its no biggy lol lol
I know people will be sceptical of my view, but then i also said the cars colour was a muddy grey and some might like it, then i said the stickers should work and not spoil it, just about got away with that aswell lol. so you will have to trust me yet again :tard: lol lol
If it aint broke don't fix it :cool:Quote:

love this car, massively impressed when i got to have a good nosey at it at billing, looks like it cocking it leg in the 2nd picture lol
it does look a bit floppy lol in the pictures and could do with stiffer spring but then i know feck all about what works and what doesn't when it comes to suspension(or anything else) lol
An example of spring poundage, the standard coilover springs that are supplied when you buy a set are approx 225lb front and 175lb rear, so to go to 350/250 should be fairly big jump on something that is already firm, esp in a lighter weight car like mine, or not as the pictures prove.
But obviously and i presume i am correct in saying, that the cornering forces i can carry running the 225 inter tyres and general setup means that what should be more than fine in general, is actually nowhere near what i need for my particular build as we have already stepped certain area's up above the norm.
To be honest I can see that thing needing stiffer rears than that. I rekon we'll eventually end up bunging 400's on it in the future
i have the springs in hand, rears literally and fronts are on order. Rears i have 400 and 550 in stock lol
wasnt it 400 that olly was running in the end?Quote:

Hmm interesting rears you have there :p
Thats a last resort, it is in the back of my mind, but the whole arb thing is just a sugar coated pile of pap designed by vauxhall on a bad day. Myself and stu have a few idea's but its an area that can be sorted easily by going other routes we believe and with no major costs.Quote:

Any updates
Its wet, so no :p
nope none at the moment, the 18ft wooden racing/sailing boat I restored last year is sat back in the main part of the barn at work. I have to give it a once over for the new race season comprising of respray and a few tweeks and additions to make it abit faster. So that has priority and the nova is tucked away awaiting freshening up for the new season still :( .
The perks of it solely being a toy i suppose :)
okkkkk............ better bump this in prep for some updates over the coming weeks, they will be slow and scattered due to weekends only but gotta start somewhere after all this time :)
Good to see this coming back out. The last time I saw it was at billing a few years ago.
Ok so here we are, a chance to get back to the car and actually put a spanner to it for the first time in almost 4 years.....
I was quite pleased to be honest, I haven't been near a spanner or a nova in all that time. From driving the car out of the barn/ driving it in the right way round to having the engine on an engine stand and the car rolling again took me 2 hours, working on my own and taking care not to damage anything. Now its just a case of sorting the sump gasket once and for all, changing the tappets and getting the gearbox refreshed. Biggest hurdle is going to be finding someone to do the box as I probably need the synchros doing, the diff serviced and the 5th gear changed to a better one
Here we go again

Awaiting some simple work

Well, aside from the diff service, the rest you and I can diy :)
Im sure you are more than capable of servicing the gearbox and diff yourselves very simple
Its a gripper plate diff, I'm not pulling that apart lol
Nice too see this again. 3/4yrs has flown. Plans for it matey?
just as well bump this as some work will be starting in a few weeks ( it may even get its first MOT ) Not bad going if we can pull it off as it has only done 2 trackdays since we completed the build in 2009 lol lol
I'd love to mate but its been over 6 years since it last rolled under its own steam so we are looking at a strip down and rebuild starting that weekend........ but...... I have my main man stopping over for a week to help me and keep the work load on track and crash it out, which is cool as he has suffered all of my builds for the last 15 years or so and it would be a shame for him to miss the last final effort lol lol lol .
Whenever you're ready to go big man, give us a shout and we'll get together for a day somewhere!!
Just a basic £5 manual crimp tool isn't it?
Keep the pictures coming with the daily progress for the mini rebuild.
Proper 070 crimp tools are £300+ lol
I am pretty sure i know where there is a set of those 15 x 8 comp TH's sitting. Not sure what offset but were on a Nova. I will have to find out.
Car looks wicked though. Top work. Look forwardto some updates.
Get on with it!
Will do in 2weeks
