Astra GTE 33 spline outer CV
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ude/nova/5.jpg
Made up a water pipe for by passing heater, with temp sensor for digital dash. Just waiting on an alloy hose joiner from eBay
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ude/nova/3.jpg
Had to redrill one of the mounting points for the feet of the rad as it got plated over  then fitted slimline fans and fitted rad
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ude/nova/4.jpg
Good job I've got the slim fans as theres very little clearance between the manifold and rad!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ude/nova/1.jpg
Then had to clear up as dinner arrived! lol

Bit more of an update. Decided to tackle the repair on my GTE rear bumper.
It was cracked in the corner as shown
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0328.jpg
Started off by washing it down and getting it cleaned up, then cut some repair mesh to shape for underneath and fibre glassed it in place
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0327.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0329.jpg
and sanded roughly to shape
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0330.jpg
then filled and sanded again
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0331.jpg
followed by a coat of primer to see how the finish was
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0332.jpg
Happy with that I gave the whole bumper a coat of Upol Plastic Adhesion Promoter
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0333.jpg
Then some perfection plastic texture on the repaired area
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0334.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0335.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0337.jpg
And finally a good coat of satin black
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0336.jpg
Well pleased with the final outcome
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0338.jpg
Also knocked up some carbon fibre mirror base plates
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0367.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0368.jpg
All in all a good days work there chap!
very impressive repair on the bumper
Cheers guys :)
Nice work on the bumper!
Cheers Adam, been putting it off for ages!! lol
Just bought a big ally sheet as I think i'm going to do a similar thing to Burgo (Thanks for the heads up on where to get it from! Need to spread some Rep before I can give generously again!!)
Also waiting on a quote for some tyres too. Was thinking of going with yoko A048's but can't stretch to the price of them so think i'm going to go with R888's.
Received a package from novarally (Thanks Colin:) ) Which was a gear linkage clamp, fuel neck breather and rad top hose. So got on with some jobs...
Dropped the fuel tank out to get the breather hose fitted
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0374.jpg
And fastened back in for good with some fresh braided fuel line as what was there was quite badly frayed
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0376.jpg
While the back end was up in the air I got my freshly painted rear anti roll bar in
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0377.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0379.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0380.jpg
And also Stud to Nut conversion on rear too
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0382.jpg
Next up I decided to get the cooling system all piped up which is done now, and got the slam pannel bolted in. Also got rid of a bit more excess metal and had a play with the hole saw, which blunted very quickly despite loads of WD40! (only a cheap crappy one!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0383.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0385.jpg
Then turned my attention to my oil cooler. Had 2 standard astra ones, one of which was binned as it was in rubbish condition. The pipes I wanted to use had banjo joints to the sandwich plate, but only had a short amount of rubber hose then the rest metal. Problem was this was too long so have decided to not run a cooler until some time in the future when I can afford one as I'd have to have pipes made up etc. So just fitted an oil filter!
Fitted my Dizzy
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0391.jpg
Fitted brand new headlights and clear indicators, and my grille
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0397.jpg
Then trial fitted front bumper to work out how to fasten the sides. Decided to use a riv-nut in the wing. Just need to get some M6 Button head bolts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0390.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0389.jpg
Was not very impressed with how the bumper fitted on the sides, was shocking! lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0392.jpg
Otherside slightly better
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0394.jpg
So took mr grinder to the wings!! then finished with some rubber edging
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0395.jpg
Next up I got the rear bumper fitted with quick release pins too
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0399.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0401.jpg
Final shot of the car with the bonnet on (all be it wrapped in bubble wrap!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0396.jpg
Anyone know how to secure the bottoms of the mk1 headlights? Are there some kind of clips?? As mine just keep springing up from the bottom!!
Aye theres 2 wee while clips that I'm sure you can buy from Vauxhall that secure onto the front panel :)
Mk2 Nova's have 1 clip and Mk1's have 2 clips
I'll try and get a pic
Thanks Vaughan that'd be great! :)
Can be seen here on my Mk1 shell -

Brilliant thanks mate, will have to get some
Not a problem fella, glad to help'ish :)
thats looking great ian.
Good fix for the shonky mk1 bumper alignment lol Looking very 'complete' now!
Another update!
Spoke to a local motorsport tyre dealer... Got a quote on some 888's and at £123 each I've decided I'm going to hold off on getting some semi slicks for now! prices are rediculous and the guy even said its not worth his breath to sell them to me!!
So just ordered 4 Toyo T1R Proxes, as there dirt cheap and I was planning on running these as my wet tyres anyway. Got all four delivered for only £3 more than one 888!!
wow iain, great update!
This pleases me, you 'Ian's don't get spelt incorrectly often enough. lolQuote:

lol Thanks Iain! Peester is obviously used to you pretending you know how to spell ian that it's become second nature!! :p but back on topic yes I've gone for 195/50's :)
Cheers guys.
Looking good chap - i've got some stainless m6 button head, i'll bring a couple down with me in the week!
That'd be great cheers, give me a bell tonight and we'll sort when's best to come over :)Quote:

So decided to fetch my wheels and get the insides painted up ready to fit the tyres as its a nice sunny evening :)
As they were in primer
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0402.jpg
and a couple of coats of Halfords finest gloss black later
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0404.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMG_0407.jpg
Should have valves and tyres fitted and all balanced up for the end of the week then get them on the car for the weekend. I'll also get my exhaust clamps and rubbers whilst at the tyre place, then exhaust system can go on too :d
Surely no Cavalier GSi alloys ?
Awesome
I was never a fan of Cav Slabs, but I got these in mint condition and already in primer for free so couldn't argue with that!! lol
Got a set of Cessaro's too so will get them painted up and some semi slicks on next year when the funds permit and I've actually got the car running and track dayed!
Good Good, any progress is good progress.
Where you get the tyres? Im looking for some myself.
Tyres were from Camskill, There on Ebay for £130 delivered, but camskill do them for £126 delivered. Every pound counts! lol
Just seen camskill thanks to the ian who cant spell :p
They are good tyres, just a shame somebody decided to kurb mine Grrr
Tidy work Ian and it's great seeing it coming together.
