didnt think a f23 would do 173mph
:wtf: trying new things i take it
He is on a diesel box was in 4th gear at his top speed run he told me, very very long ratios
4th gear at 173, thats mental
Yeah I realise why you went for the f20 but if it was mine ( which it isn't lol )
I would be using that expensive quaiffe box as some serious collateral towards a flly rebuilt diffed up f28 as it would be such a shame to see £1000 + blown to pieces.
Thinking on though I take it you don't use the car a great deal due to it's show car condition etc so it may well be ok for the odd blast,
I feel with track abuse it will be on borrowed time though but will be a brutal machine and fun whilst it lasts
Keep the pictures coming I love this thread

Wouldnt a Quaife straight cut box be better at handling power than a standard rebuilt Vaxhall box?
I know an F28 was designed to go with the turbo engine but surely Quaife with its notorsport heritage would be better???
What amuses me about these comments is how someone thinks helical gears of any sort [in this instance of an F28 getrag] will be stronger than spur type of a quaife.
Proper racing spec trans oil will no doubt be beneficial over say 'any old EP90' from Halfords or B&Q.
I'm not say g it will be stronger I never mentioned that I say it will be mOre useable
I'm sure 400bhp or whatever this will become will strain both boxes
Kev Turbo - whereabouts in Oswestry are you?
