Cormac your swing should of been entered into a concourse comp for the png, would of been worth it, not seen one so clean! :thumb:Quote:

So here are some pics from that stage there arn't loads due to the fact i cba with the camera all the time i just wanted to get on lol
Anyway i finished off the Jack on the roof adding in the missing lines
Taped it
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted138.jpg
Masked it
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted145.jpg
keyed the paint
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted139.jpg
And whacked some colour on
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted147.jpg
Not too bad - other than the bugs lol
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted157.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted156.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted155.jpg
Then sat back for some T
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted142.jpg
While that paint was drying i lifted the front end and started to strip the front suspension out so I could paint it
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted151.jpg
All stripped
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted149.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted150.jpg
And everything in the middle of a heavy painting session
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted159.jpg
So with yet more paint drying i found myself sorting out some of the little fiddly jobs that are a pain but a must at the same time
Wing mirror mounting base plates from 3mm Ali
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted160.jpg
Looking good, liking the union jack very tarty :)
Some nice work as usual, car looked great at billing! :)
Nick.
The base plates are fitted to the doors with nut certs
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted161.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted166.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted167.jpg
I fitted all the Polly windows using 206 window rubbers and some sealant (classic zip tie to keep the window in place while the sealer drys)
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted168.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted163.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted162.jpg
Secured the front wings with some brackets and bolts/ rivets (as some one had cut the inner edge off the wing that you would usually use to bolt it to the front panel)
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted169.jpg
And mounted the lights to make sure the wings fitted correctly
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted170.jpg
And a quick one of the light weight door handles (standard nova ones de rubbered and cut out)
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted165.jpg
After the build up the car actually made Billing as seen in the previous lot of photos.
This then leads us to post Billing progress basically todays efforts
I started to try and fathom the braided brake line configuration to which i quickly realised i didn't have all the fittings i needed Doh!
The engine bay side nearly all sorted minus some P clipage
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild001.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild002.jpg
And into the cabin straight down the centre of the car
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild003.jpg
To the rear were the line splits and i ran out of fittings (i used an extra one in the engine bay)
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild004.jpg
As i had come to a holt with the brake lines i turned my attention to stripping out the rear suspension in order to paint the rear drums and back plates, fit the rear shoes and cables etc and measure up the rear springs in orded to purchase some of a higher pondage as the current ones are only 150....any one make a recomendation to the correct poundage for the track?
Sus lowered
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild005.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild006.jpg
The gaping hole waiting for the tank thans comming soon
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild007.jpg
The drums cleaned
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild008.jpg
Acid etched
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild010.jpg
And greened with a brush as getting the gun out just for these seemed like effort.
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild009.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild011.jpg
And the back plate took some green also
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild012.jpg
Yet more paint drying again so on with something else - the rear arches or at least the hole under the rear arches, i do not want everything i come across on the road/track to end up in the rear arch cavity so i sealed the inner crevise with some stone chip and then expanding fomed the whole funking lot
Stone chip
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild013.jpg
And a giant alien fungus
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild015.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild018.jpg
Half way through the second arch i ran out of foam....bastid
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild023.jpg
Once the foam had cured i gave it a light trim
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild027.jpg
But it hadn't set deep inside so i have left it over night, and continued with the fuel system.
Firstly the swirl pot, its going around here
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild019.jpg
But i needed to make a bracket to sit it level so i made this one up out of Ali
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild022.jpg
It now sits nice and level
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild020.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild021.jpg
Then back to the rear and the brakes - i fitted some new genuine brake cylinders as the others were funked
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild024.jpg
Then rebuilt the brakes only to find the hand brake cables were wrong ffs
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild017.jpg
This i a complimentary shot of the cabin from the rear just because
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild026.jpg
And one of the Spaniels who put up with my noise all day even though they were trying to sleep
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...Rebuild014.jpg
That basically concludes todays efforts, i still have much to do but i'm feeling better as its slowly coming together and the list of bits i need to buy is getting smaller. Off the top of my head i need
Thanks for looking
- stud conversion
- brake line fittings
- mesh for the bonnet triangles
- flush fitting filler cap
- an exhaust
