John, yes a ball throttle cable AND i also need a well, ideally an exhaust flexi - ive a 6-7" gap from where the corsa z18xe piper manifold ends and the nova gte magnex system starts - i need to join them up before turn key.
nah fire it in without! lol Where's your nearest poweflow or similar dave? couldn't they do you a flexi?Quote:

awsome project mate, ive just sat here and read the whole thing, was looking for your digi dash fitting and got sucked in lol. Look forward to seeing it run.

thanks guys, nice to see a surprise thread bump again lol..
Mr fow, anyone whos anyone knows of your crackin sharp project ; top work yourself, sir.
chapo, the b -reg swing sounds a great car to do, mk1's are in fashion at the mo with the retro-edge.
Have you finished it yet? :p
Been following from day one. Truely awesome car and will be in an elite league once the 1.8 is up and running.
lol, wow thanks dude.. more comments like that please.. :-)
its nearly finished, im waiting for an exhaust flexi to just wedge inbetween the manifold and rest of system,.. i connected the throttle cable the other day, so just need engine oil in then away we go.

ummm so in theory this weekend then? lol
I purchased an Ashley flexi off ebay few years ago, seemed resonable. just make sure of the lenght you need and where they mesure from, mine was half the size I ideally wanted.
aye, well until i get it i wont really know but i deffo checked the measurements n that.. hope it does the trick.
Im bit pee'd tbh, as usual, i won and paid for this flexi (ebay) a week ago now.. still no show, but postage is naff lately so, must be that.
*update - could well be last one of the year..
its not good news. Been struggling with attaining parts still.
Following on from last update the ebay flexi came twice wrong, so ive sent them both back and ordered from elsewhere on ebay; thats due today.
Im fitting it on my next day off and bleeding brakes.
Then following on from this thread:
http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=134444
I sent my throttle pot off to jenvey directly (rather than dealing with bowyer) and just been told today they'de move production of that/all throttle pots/parts to india and theyre making them wrong.
So at least a few weeks, probably in january- before i get my a new, complete one..
So one final twist at the end really.
Hope to be pleasantly surprised and it show up early, but whenever it does ill post the long awaited update as soon as..
Happy christmas and new year then.
what a pisser dude :(
F'king hell mate, not had much luck have you..
Gutted mate, its just the stupid suppliers holding you up as it wouldn't take long if you had all the bits. :(
Truly sucks. Guess it saves it being on the road over the winter but it should be worth it all.
yep guys, suffered a lot of naff service from a number of people.
The car is always off-road in winter, so even if it was finished i wouldnt be using it; have a second car for everyday use.
Lots of pics of it again in this months tv. One small one also makes it onto the front cover!
lol.. was done so well thats why eh..
thanks john, i do get the mag at work, abeit a bit late compared to everywhere else, so ive not seen them yet.
You rekon theyll feature it again sometime? lol
Oh good god!! first time i have looked at this one. what a cracking job mate looks so good.:thumb:
why thank you nice lady
Yea keep it up dave love the way the car looks and the fact you have fitted something different that hopefully will be able to rival an XE.:thumb:
Top work keep it up.
Damo.
Can't see why not fella? Almost everything apart from the shell has changed somehow since i've had it. :) :thumb:Quote:

what was up with throttle pot?
hope mines alright lol
lol.. mr bowyer too?? no ****..
anyway i just havent been told how these 'pot's fit/work.
Bowyers original pot got 'set-up' for me so all i had to do was plonk it on, but he supplied it without any fitting kit and it wasnt new..
so dealing directly with jenvey, they took the original incomplete one back and sent a new one out (like 6-8 weeks later) but they havent done the 'set-up' bit, even though i asked.
Hence this meh.
i wish i could afford throttle bodies :(
really interested in seeing this finished and driven
thanks dude,.. i couldnt afford all this if im honest. Too late lol.
There's light at the tunnel :)
*update..
well as seen on many-a-thread in technical.. all down to needing a super-high cranking battery (over 500amps!) it actually starts..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...rtupandrun.jpg
ive got the whole 5 minute vid up- loading but all u see is 5 mins of the above..
all seems ok, have to say a big thanks to martin kelson for lending me his fp guage; it was quite out and wasnt able to run without setting up..
its actually just over 4 bar at the mo.. gasp!
