Started with some 25mmx25mm square tube
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03448.jpg
To make the spreader plates to weld to the car used 3mm plate and cut 60mmx60mm squares
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03450.jpg
Cleaned the plate found the centre then centered the bar
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03451.jpg
Tacked the plates to make sure they would fit into the car
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03452.jpg
Once made sure it fitted seam welded the plate to the bar
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03454.jpg
Made plenty of penetration
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03457.jpg
Welded the bars in the car to suit the width of the seat holes I have welded them so they can still be adjusted if required. Also welded to supports to make a h-frame style mounting.
the finished article

Cheers mate im actually impressed by the mig welding aswell up until the last few weeks the weldin has been ok but most has been hidden away but I must have just got past that crap area to ok area of mig welding. Half the time i wanted to stop and get some gas rods as I can do that till the cows come with having to do it as part of my job but the migging is looking good. :thumb:Quote:

update time. guys just been speaking to steve (aka steveboyslim) and my engine is ran in and mapped ready to go. I do need to get it checked on the rollers as they couldnt use the BTB exhaust manifold on the engine dyno.
So the question on everybodys lips how much power has this very expensive c20xe got?
It made 244bhp at 7900. And there will be more to come (maybe another 10-15bhp steve thinks) the mapp is to run as it is and will be making a journey to rs when there is some time free in there diary. Its a usable which is the main thing so even if it's not checked it can still get to pv and ran up the strip http://www.vauxhall-sport-forum.com/...smiles/002.gif http://www.vauxhall-sport-forum.com/...s/icon_lol.gif .
I must say a Huge thanks to steve Milton, steve greenhall, Neil roper, bluesprint and anybody else who has played a part in the quest with the engine ESP as they were still playing with it a midnight last night.
Cheers gareth
sounds good mate and thats alot of power for a tiny we nova lol
Cheers bud. Most people will say im never happy but if it hits the 255+ mark then i think that will do. :)Quote:

nice figures matey, bet you cant wait to get it in the car...what spec were the cams in the end?
Good result - very similar to my figure - but whats the torque fig? Thats the important one! lol
Cheers mate. Very big lol seriously though I'm not sure steve sorted that out when I get the engine back I'll put the final spec up. But they are piper cams and they were the biggest cams before having no tickover :eek:Quote:

Cheers will. But what ancillieries? I was under the impression the engine dyno was the true way for getting a power figure.Quote:

Nice, looks good. Are those machined blanks for the oil filler and breather holes?
Cheers Iain they are indeed, there from SBD and are not cheap for what they are :cry:Quote:

Finished off the fr gearbox mount which has tidyed the bay up a bit.
Using 3mm steel plate cut a recess into the leg. Boxed it out from the inside and put some brackets in for good measure.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03530.jpg
made a plate to hold the rubber and fitted with two nuts welded to it.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03536.jpg
Made a nice plate to fit over the top and make it more conspicious.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03544.jpg
Seam sealed.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03551.jpg
Then had a crack at fitting the engine. We messed about trying to locate bits as I have a habbbit of putting things away and losing them. Got the engine and box together. and lifted in.
At 10:30 this evening this was the finished article.
