done abit more added another brace in the rear and thrown abit of high build etch primer on the top of the rear subframe where it will be a pain to paint when the rear floors in

so what are you ding to the strut top then am getting confused lol

the original strut top? binning it

im going 50mm wider either side so i will have 100mm wider track so it will alow mw to use standard cav turbo shafts and joints

cool so will you use cav hubs , bottom arm's and suspension to or nova ones

i originaly planed to use 5 stud conversion hubs then i thought about using full cav legs but after a little more thought suspension options are limited due to design but im now looking down another route but more on that as i get there as i may change my mind again by then

Do you have anything written down regarding a plan of action ? Or is it all from the mind ? lol

i have alot of diagrams drawings notes ect of measurements from before i started but as for the fab work its been fairly fly by wire and for a good reason.

i had a good idea of what i was after and what i wanted to create ect but when you start chopping the more you chop the more everything you have to work with changes ect

my first plan was to keep most the original forward floor and to be honest i proberly could have if i wanted 200 horse and no more
the problem was that im aiming for silly power and crazy punishment in regards to the way it will be driven and to be honest when i choped the rear floor out i wasnt happy with the strength of what was left so i had a rethink.
thats where my plans that i drew up came from and thats what i have worked for obviously adapting ect as i go

i posted my original drawings early on and i think i have stuck fairly close to them realy

As your going wide track, have you considered buying the Sprint C wide arch kit that Colin/novarally has forsale ?

Something as special as this deserves a special kit like that :d

problem is mate i want steel rear arches so i can tie the steel inner arches to them with ease

i have an idea of where im going with it all and again your just gonna have to wait

Got to be about 22% now lol,
seeing the front end like that would make me want to lower the engine with a dry sump and steel skid pan below it all,

I did see that, but though of propshaft hight, if it's not been fixed yet then goodie, still no point in trying to second guess what you'll do next lol,

engines not going down as such but im not using the original mount locations mainly because i have a 4 inch inlet on my turbo which is going directly out the side of the front bumper and the exhaust is going straight out the passenger side of the front bumper followed by the wastegate screamer pipe

Still going to have nova style arches tho yeah?

defenatly going to be square and nova style not round but exactly how big and how im doing them im shady on the details at the min thats why i want to go have a measure up on them massive arches collin smith has

front arches will now be my new bonnet bumper grill and headlights all in one.......................... as i say more on that stuff as i get there

yes mate thats why the strut top hasnt been fitted yet as its got to be drilled and hole sawed

Briilliant progress on this Ste as ever, question is can a car be too stiff though I'm not up on all my welding and stability but won't a car need a little flex or it will just fly off the road, just a question because I'm intrigued at how it will really handle ;)

^^^^ I don't no much about all this sort stuff but do kit cars have much flex?as there space framed etc

I'm just curious though because how many spaceframed 4x4's are there, probably some supercars I suspect but not the length of a nova.

I'm not critising your build btw Ste, it's inspiring for everyone on here :thumb:

in a word, no, the stiffer it is the more you can work with the actual suspension geometry and it's movements, F1 cars are built with a tolerance of 4mm at the wheel centres under use, i.e up to around 7g under braking.
