As said at the weekend we've been busy again with the nova... I dropped the car off saturday morning and a few hours later once it had cooled down the coolant was drained and stat housing, hard boost pipe and lower water bar were removed. Later on that afternoon they were prepared and painted using the same semi matt grey Ive used everywhere else on the car. Monday morning saw them dropped off to be refitted at which point my previously painted bailey header tank was also fitted along with fresh coolant added. More items I painted a while ago were the gsi/gte spec servo and mustard engine covers along with a new rocker gasket have also made their way on. No shiny pipework now leaving the bay looking more subtle.......

Freshly painted engine covers and stat housing with new button head stainless fittings.....

And the bay overall........... You can just see the larger new servo looking much better for being grey.

The new drums I painted a while back have also been fitted along with new bearings and cylinders.......

Last time I had the car on the ramp doing the underside I noticed the exhaust rubbers were a bit perished which was possibly causing the exhaust to sit out of postion so I bought the flo flex poly kit. Now they are fitted the exhaust sits almost centrally perfect.............

Lastly nova wise the sump has leaked since I bought the car. A call to autovaux and I bought the 8v baffle kit. That has since been fitted along with fresh oil/filter and the temp sender loom plug was replaced too due to a damaged retainer. Hopefully my garage floor will now see less oil! With a bit of luck I can be squeezed in for an mot saturday and then were all ready to head to the vboa bash. As long as It doesnt break anything else before hand I will see you all there :)
But before I go heres a little update on the recently acquired mini. as said previously I wasnt a fan of the schnitzer wheels so the hunt was on to find some genuine cooper s standard wheels. I sourced some locally for a bargain only downside being they were silver. But a refurb later and we now have these waiting to go on......

They should certainly look much better and suit it as they'll go with the roof/mirrors etc. :)
Thats it for now, thanks for reading and hope to speak to some of you soon!

Nice update Nick,
Quick question, what wheel bolts are you using ?
BMW issue matt black, and the lockers are BMW as well :thumb:
Dude looks awesome. Really liking the grey in the bay.
Cheers Edd, As mk999 said they are Bmw jobbies that come anodised black....... same taper/size etc ;)Quote:

To the Nova, looking good. I was worried all the grey would be too much but looking at it all complete now I like it, contrasts with the yellow very well.
Rocker bolts are socket headed not buttons.

Loving the bay however. I'd never have figured it was missing the extra touches & colour coding etc. Subtle is the way forward though. That matt grey looks as good as chrome if not more.
