Cheers guys, sadly I literally have no more than maybe 6 inches to fit a silencer in there at best.
It may not even work anyway as the exhaust is very close to the tyre anyway and a silencer will mean its even closer.
Maybe I could go with something like the japs do with a 20 foot silencer pointing upwards, or something off a Scania truck ! lol
Sounds like a plan mate was Ben ok with knocking those bits upQuote:

Yes he is although he has just buggered his back up so I expect there is going to be a delay as he will quickly get behind with all his other jobs.
I'll call you once I have spoken to him though mate.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03244.jpg
So I decided to mock fit the rear axle to make sure the coilover lines up for the new bracket.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03245.jpg
made the bracket to suit.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03246.jpg
welded it in place
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03248.jpg
And everything was going so well until when we held the axle up in place the new bracket that bolts onto the strut base was too far inward
so out came the 3mm plate and made the template to suit (starwars comes to mind)

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03252.jpg
I have put a single triangulation underneath but I think I may need another
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03254.jpg
Ill get the other side finished tomorrow and start with other pressing things
Cheers Gareth
for the beam, you can just weld in a piece of box under your new plate, will be plenty strong enough, pretty much what i did on mine
Cheers Lee I might look into it at some point, but ill see how what I have done pans out :thumb:Quote:

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03266.jpg
Then I decided to carry out more demolition work by starting to cut the line for the dry sump kit
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03270.jpg
Then I got a bit off topic by making the brackets to hold my fuel tank
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03263.jpg
it will sit something like this
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03262.jpg
I also tried to work out when everthing else was going to sit
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03264.jpg
Cheers Gareth
Is it a better idea to have as much of the fuel system as far forward as possible in case of rear impact? Just thinking out loud...
Turrets and beam look awesome by the way
Cheers Iain I did think about that and im not sure thats where everything is going to stay :confused:Quote:

Well got a little bit done yesterday. Managed to get the pedal box sat in place its no the best fitment but it should work
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03346.jpg
Made a couple of plates to hide where the old braking system sat
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03351.jpg
Also ran the front bake lines to the t-piece.
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03345.jpg
Plates fitted
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03352.jpg
I modded and welded in a plate in for the dry sump kit
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03355.jpg
Not sure if im happy with the welds
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/DSC03357.jpg
Then I ran out of welding gas so need to finish the inside welds.
Since I still had time I Started cutting and drilling the old seat mount to fit some new rails
And Finally polished the bonnet seems to have come up ok.
Thats all for now cheers

And i have sort of welded the exhaust together so when the manifold comes back I just have to flange the exhaust. I have also been told from steve (steveboyslim) that my engine should be ready to come back this weekend coming. :d
I will get some pics up over the week.
Cheers Gareth
Not putting it on the dyno then Gareth ?
In all honesty I would be if it was mine, will certainly work out cheaper than running it in then taking it to be mapped, plus you can fit it and use it from the off ;)
It is being ran in and mapped on the dyno but it'll just need the map alteratering a little once its fitted to the car.
David.
Touch the biggest fattest piece of wood I can that should be happening wedensday I think mate. :thumb:Quote:

David, agreed but its nigh on ready to go with any leaks or potential problems sorted before installation which on a Nova is a huge benefit.
