Cheers Ad, get yours back on the road, once you drive it again you'll remember why you had it..
Thanks Ian, yeah i hope the weather stays nice, it's meant to be OK, so should be a good day, I'll take some pics of the good cars for everyone!
lol nice one Benn, what is about that pic you like then mate?
I keep looking at it and thinking, im stuck for things to do now, as i think it's pretty much complete, only thing i can do is get the underside a bit more tidy, and maybe at some point get the bottoms of both doors/sills re painted as they have small stone chip bubbles coming on.
Scott
Awesome thread!
You've done an awesome job on it, it's looking so sweet now!
Lizzie
dont touch it leave it as it is imo :)
looks nice n clean :)
Looks wicked mate!
Just wants a let in then its the perfect nova
Wheels look perfect, stance is just right, clean lines that flow, no sh*te on it. Stubby mirrors are a great touch, very clean, no dents or rust, nice tidy bay (maybe think of painting the wipe motor backing plate tho)
Great car, really nice work on it. Nicely taken pic.
Nom!
its worked out perfectly.
Looks stunning mate!
So after an amazing day yesterday at Retro Rides Gathering, i decided it was time i fitted a few things i had sitting about, got this AA badge so made a mount for it, and slapped it on..

Then after Framptons blusterous service, or lack of customer service they sent me this in the post for free, so put it to use after again making a quick mount for it.

Im seriously contemplating putting the snow plough on this now, but it wont be like all the rest..
Scott
Looking good mate, where did you get the tinted sunstripe from?
Ebay dude, just search for graduated sun strip etc.
Ok found some is it the blue one you had
No, i had the black one, but im might get the blue and green to choose from on the loon..
Sorry dude i don't like the GB one and hate the AA one. Better before.
Thats alright dude, i know these thing are not all to everyone's taste, i like it it's staying for now.
So had a re think about the AA badge on the grill, didnt like it there, as it broke the grill clean lines so...

Not feeling all the badges and stickers dude.
Would look much better just plain imo.
i think you should of left it the way it was mate :)
crack the plough on for sure
Mmmm not a fan of them badges mate, just doesn't suit the car at all, but if you like them then keep em on bud
Iain
Looking nice and retro mate, I'm waiting for pics of the 'plough :) I keep toying with the idea of a 'plough for my 'loon but I need the money for other things at the mo. I may get something next year
I carry an AA card, but no badges for me, spoils the clean look.
But it's your car so please yourself;)
Im going to keep the badges for now, just to see if i do like them still over the next few weeks, but im still not sure on the front AA one so might ditch that, but just so you all know these will be going on the loon, thats reason Ive tried them on this first! lol
Need to go speak to my mate about getting the plough sorted and sort a way of fitting it etc..
3 point linkage?

lol
I actually like the AA badge better on the grill, also the GB plate is a nice idea but smaller and more subtle would be better... tbh though trying something different on your car is what it's all about and I like that, good work as ever Scott :)
So..... been thinking, should I just drop the x16xe standard in this, or turbo it etc, an get rid of the loon? Or stick to my plan with loon an this an sell the .mk4 astra ?
what ever you do dont get rid of the loon it looks class
I love this car. Excellent work mate :)
Perfect MK1! :)
What brand/shade of gold did you use for the wheels?
Cheers guys, Simon it's hammerite gold spray paint, not the best, as it took ages to dry, I mean weeks/months till it was hard..
Are those cable tie's I spotted .
Well she fired up first turn after standing for 3 months, just need to look at the brakes, give them a service etc..

So drove it out to the country to take some pics, an that's my virtual tour of the car, not much of an update, but I'll have some garage space soon..
Scott
Bloody stunning Scott, a smaller GB plate would look better though ;)
Actually I'm bored of them badges now, so I'll take them off..
