Took longer to get back together than it did to get it off being careful not to scratch it.
Need to lower the rear coilovers slightly as the new brackets raise the rear up slightly.
Took it for a quick spin around the block just to make sure it all seemed ok then tucked it back into the garage.
That was it half a days work!
Quite enjoyed myself actually :)
Nice work Martin looks very nice!
Nick.
I've not unwrapped my beam yet, but if it look that good i'll be very happy.
Great work dude, i never noticed your rear disc plates are put on higher..
Nice work mate keep it up !
nice work, love the 4 pics that are the same
lol
Hi
No progress, quite the opposite to be honest :(
Went to adjust the rear ride height today as having the new brackets welded on the rear beam it was sitting ever so slightly higher.
Got to the rear offside & found this.

Bid annoyed as i have no idea how its happened.
Anyway turn a negative into a positive as i dont really think black wheels suit the car so may aswell get them all redone i think.
What colour should i do them?
No silly comments like green, yellow etc as that wont be happening.
Anthracite maybe or silver or any other advise please.
Cheers
Dude cant quite tell what it is thats happened is it a scuff on one spoke? as theres that much reflection from them i cant tell whats reflection and what scratches etc! lol
If it was me i would a dull bronze/gold like so..

Think it would look ace against the Bentley violet mate, get one of the lads of here to do a photo shop etc.
Scott
All looking very good mate, great attention to detail, i would go for a light anthracite colour i think it would really suit the overall look of the car buddy
Yes its a scuff / scratch Scott.
Never realy thought about that Matt Bronze..........Hmmm interesting one that Scottie :)
Satin Anthracite :)
Hi Martin, Do you have a Bmw dealer local to you? Some of the Mini countrymans run a lovely metallic grey colour wheel with a semi clear/matt finish. Looks very nice and I have the details for It. Drop by and take a look If you have a forecourt local fella.
Nick.
I could do them for you through work but It wouldnt be cheap. Id have to check but off the top of my head I think Its approx £60 a wheel plus vat. And although Ive never had an issue paint is never as tough as powdercoat which I know you've used In the past. Drop me a text/call If you want anymore details mate.
Nick.
These on now are painted & have been scratched twice now.
Never scratched powdercoated ones so that may be my best option.
Cheers for the offer though Nick i will definetly bear it in mind.
A really high count metallic silver would look nice, If not a satin grey might be cool.. But might just look dirty if you get what i mean...
Alright mate i see the old girl is comein on nice it would be nice to pop round and have a look one day if that ok ?? keep up the good work ;)
Wheels loaded in the car for their trip to Birmingham tomorrow to go to 'the wheel specialist'.
Still not sure on what to go for on the colour. Iam hoping when i get there a wheel on display will catch my eye.
Did see on the way home tonight that cought my eye, a black Subaru with Gold wheels, now that looked nice but now sure if iam brave enough to choose gold!!! :)
Please help :)
The dark bronze/gold should be given some thought.
Full on gold might look abit too much.
lol what about silver?
I would deffinately go with the bronze / matt gold. It reminds me of the midnight purple R33 skylines.

Loving the idea of the matt bronze/gold wheels, would compliment the body colour well! Don't chicken out and go for silver!
Do like the matt bronze that 'Volk' do their wheels like the last picture but nobody seems to do it.
How long before we see the final finish - tomorrow night ??
A metallic bronze I think would look good.
I think bronze will just finish it off nicely mate .
Just dropping em off tomorow.
Be ready in the week so may take a day off work & pick em up or failing that i will go fetch next Saturday.
Bronze it is then martin - that was an easy choice wasn't it !!
Not much of a update but iam still messing before it goes back on the road.
After having the beam powdercoated & new bracket welded for bottom shock to mount to i wasnt happy with the way the rear shock now sat in the bracket. It must be slightly straighter than the standard Nova so didnt want to nicely poke out the top.
Cant really tell by this picture but it looked slightly forced.

Quick mail to Gaz & they were boxed up to be sent back. They are swapping the bottom bushing for a rose joint so it can go at the correct angle. Hopefully they will be back next week.
Also picked wheels back up today.
Went in the end for Gunmetal grey with a semi Matt laquer.
Not happy with the centre caps so will be speaking with them tomorrow.

Take no notice of how its sitting, as i have no rear coilovers the rear suspension is literally a house brick between shell & rear beam!! :)
The wheels look sexual buddy, really suit the car
:gay:
Those center caps colours are miles away from the wheels, thats quite bad tbh
Looking good :)
Looking good mate !
that looks very very nice
Yea Chris not happy with the caps.
Spoke to them today & i have posted them back. The say it was was because the wheels were powder coated & caps wet painted but they said they should have been a closer match than that.
Anyway there going to see what they can do. I said if you cant get them any closer then to do them semi matt black so it doesnt look like a poor colour match!
Still think you need smaller tyres though lol! :-)
I did wonder about that^ they look huge...
I'm unsure on the wheels tho, maybe when the rides back in place i'll like them more..
