hi everyone
going to put the engine back in over the weekend:D
but i am having a problem deciding which way is best to put the engine back in, lower it down into the car or bring it up into the engine bay from underneath....
me and my to mates aaron and gareth have had a long talk about it aaron and myself think in from the top which was the way it came out in the first place.
but gareth(know it all) thinks in from underneath would be easier.
please all comments welcome to bring an end to this very long disscusion:eek:
easier form underneath less chance of scratching visible paint work etc
hi mate
i would bring engine up from underneath!
then no chance of damaging engine bay
or any paint work done.
good luck mate
mmmmmm so gareth(know it all) might be right after all...
damm i hate it when hes right cos you have to listen to him go on about it for months:mad:
Agreed, from underneath. I spent an entire day trying to squeeze it in through the top and it was refreshingly easy when putting it in through the bottom.
thanks iainel
so if i go from underneath i will have to take the anti rollbar off, and what else or is that me clear to go ahead?
anti roll bar definetly but i struggled getting engine up from bottom with the tie rods still bolted to the crossmember (i found putting engine in from bottom was the easiest way and doesnt damage paintwork)
i have also got a new project thread of my nova up now mate..have a look if you like.
thanks greg
not long home got the engine in today :D
its not all wired up yet or any hoses etc connected up but the engine mounts are all tightened up and shes back in her rightful place after many months...
also engine bay is still mint thankfully no paint scratched today:thumb:
good stuff..cant wait to see pics.
